I've picked up a taste for hip-hop and reggae.
The things you assume about people over the net... I never would have guessed.
Seeing as I referenced Jamaican Dancehall music prominently in a recent blog piece - and have mentioned rap before in previous articles - I can't work out if this is tongue-in-cheek or not.

I just get tired of hipsters (and I'm not referring to anyone on these boards) proclaiming that a "real" Pink Floyd fan's favorite albums are Wish You Were Here and The Final Cut (The Final Cut, for God's sake). I own and love albums from Beck, Bowie (Ziggy Stardust could have been on my list, easily), Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Frank Zappa, and so on, but if I step back and try to be objective. The "mainstream" albums on my list have historically brought me more pleasure and listening time than anything like Murder Ballads.
Classic albums are classic for a reason, and I'm on a mission to bring them back, dammit.
And Loter, I can see why most people dismiss easy pop like Rumors, but I love the whole Stevie Nicks magic-archetype she transformed into, and unless my therapist somehow cures me, Fleetwood Mac is staying on the list.

Matt - If I could have gotten away with it, I'd have put the entire Trojan box set collection on my list. Definitely not "albums" though. What kind of hip hop are we talking? Aesop Rock - Labor Days was a close call for me.
Personally I LOVE pop music, problem is that most of the time, there are at best a few great tracks and a bunch of shit on any given pop album.

Damn right. Everybody knows that the only real Floyd option is the Barrett solo stuff.I just get tired of hipsters (and I'm not referring to anyone on these boards) proclaiming that a "real" Pink Floyd fan's favorite albums are Wish You Were Here and The Final Cut (The Final Cut, for God's sake).
Sorry.
I'll get me(rubbish hipster) coat.

Hey, here's a fun fact. Did you know that Danzig actually did a song for the Less Than Zero soundtrack? It's credited to Glen Danzig and the Power & Fury Orchestra...it is SO Roy Orbison/Late Elvis. It's called "You and Me". It's actually pretty awesome, not metal at all.
The Clash - is it London Calling because I think it's a great album or is it Give 'Em Enough Rope or The Clash because they have awesome tracks I love ?
Well, it's got to be "London Calling" because that is one of the great records of all time. Lately though, I have to say that "Sandinista!" is my favorite Clash record.

Fun fact #2 about that album: Danzig co-wrote the Roy Orbison song "Life Fades Away", also featured.
Fun fact #3: "Hazy Shade of Winter" by the Bangles is a guilty pleasure that I will listen to pretty much anytime.
