Ok, so I'd like to pick up George MacDonald Fraser's brilliant Flashman series for my Kindle [love the books, but I want to recover the bookshelf space that currently holds the dozen dead-tree versions]. Amazon, of course, has them for sale via Amazon.co.uk but will not sell them to a US buyer. If you've got the ebooks on-hand now, I'd be interested in talkin' to you for perhaps some library trading.
If not, but you're in the UK and have a kindle--preferably an older one--registered at Amazon.co.uk, I'd be happy to pay you to buy them for me and I can walk you through how to fix the DRM so you can send them so you can send them to me (not sure how well they work with the newest-gen kindles. I have a DX; pre-Fire/Touch Kindles are better for this sort of thing)
Fucking amazing that I'm perfectly willing to shell out perfectly good US$ at MSRP prices to buy these things but no one is willing to actually LET me buy them....

I don't have Pyrates, though it is on my "get to at some point" list.
And thanks for the assessment of my taste. So, to completely destroy that kind perception, I'll now recommend to anyone who digs Flashman and even the tiniest interest in Warhammer40k fluff to pick up Sandy Mitchell's "Commissar Ciaphas Cain" novels. Cain is a very Flashman-esque character whose efforts to avoid dangerous assignments, hard work, and almost anything with a hint of personal risk lead to others perceiving him as a Great Leader of Men and a nearly-legendary "Hero of the Imperium." (Flashman is more of a craven, irresponsible bully-type than Cain. Instead, Cain uses a more humorous/light-hearted approach to poke some fun at the stereotypical stiff-necked, literal-minded, "Not one step back!"-type of Imperial Guard Commissar as well as the more overblown, takes-itself-too-seriously "in this grim future, the light of Man dims, and THROUGHOUT THE GALAXY, WORLDS BURN WHILE MEN KNOW ONLY WAR!" approach to writing WH40k universe fluff. Generally well-written (for Warhammer fluff) with some nice little in-jokes if you're reasonably well-read in anything besides comicbooks and game fluff and just entertaining in general.
PM sent for the GMdF books
