Free Comic Book Day!

Just took the kids, got a massive pile of free books...don't miss it!

I'm not sure my lowly city even has a place that sells comic books anymore.

And the standard reminder that the books aren't free for the store, so buy something.

Wasn't thrilled by the free ones on display this year (except for the Kate Beaton 1/2 a book) but picked up the new Batman '66 which my daughter is completely infatuated with right now, and Smile for her older cousin. Plus volume 1 of the new Ms Marvel as I've wanted to check that out for awhile and Squirrel Girl #1 which has gotten good press locally.
It was so fun sitting at dinner with the girls reading / looking at their comics together. Really happy the comics scene is better for girls these days.

Yeah, don't be the dick that walks out with a pile of free books and no purchased...we picked up the complete Bone while we were there too- full cover price, gladly paid.
