...to keep me informed of cool shit! I know it's the holidays and everyone's busy, but who dropped the ball on this? Was it mentioned and I missed it?

Apparently this is a thing!

I walked into Newbury Comics to kill some time before heading to the movies and I was greeted with this slice of crazy tugging at my 12 year old self's heartstrings:

Well, I bought that without thinking twice.

Yeah, I saw this the other day in the comic shop as well. I was already feeling a bit like I had become unstuck in time as I purchased the new SANDMAN by Neil Gaiman and the new DARK KNIGHT by Frank Miller. Seeing TMNT together with Batman kind of put me over the edge and I didn't go for it, but now I'm regretting it. I also would love a review so I know if I need to go back to the store.

First issue of DK III (by the way) was pretty awesome. FU J-Lo!

If I recall, I was the one who told you it was awesome, Al.

Crossovers like this are very hit or miss, and tend to skew towards sucking. The Grimjack/TMNT meeting in Grimjack #26 sucked, even though Grimjack was a very good comic. As for Batman, the Batman/Predator crossovers were pretty good, and Batman/Aliens was outstanding. However, Batman/Judge Dredd was lousy, and Batman/Grendel was a huge disappointment with a large retail price. The best that I've seen was the Batman/Planetary crossover, which managed the astounding feat of capturing Planetary at it's finest while showing great respect for several different versions of Batman, including even the Adam West Batman from tv. And yet the subsequent Elseworlds crossover of JLA and Planetary was terrible.

Just so you know you haven't missed out on any other cool stuff, the new Independence Day movie looks awful and the new x-men movie has cast Sansa Stark in the role of a young Jean Grey. Looks and sounds like Sansa stark spo you'll likely think of how much you hate Ramsey Snow several times while trying to watch x-men. Worst casting choice ever.

So yeah, you haven't missed out on any other cool news.

Also, lest we be scolded for not informing you, there is a new Star Wars movie coming out this weekend. Pretty hush hush and on the QT.

And, I didn't think that was real. Who the hell thought that would make a good combination?

Imagine those brainstorming sessions: You know what? That's crazy enough to work! Good job thinking outside the box.
