Well, I guess living in these times of abundance, folks are going to get bored....

I'd wager with the rise of automation, cheaper goods, smaller workforce, etc more and more folks are going to get interested in kooky stuff.

People dressing up as creepy murder clowns at night and walking around has been in the news recently. There's nothing you can actually charge them with for the most part, so...

My wife is SUPER freaked out about it. Apparently, one of her friends actually saw one of these guys out near her kids' school. She called 911 and they had to put the school on lockdown and sent everyone home.

It makes no sense...I'm sure most of it is just bored teen prankers, but some of these people are making open threats, carrying weapons, and actually approaching people.

Apparently this has actually kind of been going on for a couple of years in the late summer/early fall...also in the UK.

Maybe it is some kind of Juggalo thing, that is the first place I would point my finger.

i saw some youtube clips of this from Europe years ago. It was really funny to watch and REALLY scary.

I remember thinking at the time, 'if anyone tried this garbage in the States, they would get instantly shot"

i bet there's ZERO of this in Texas

I'm sure a lot of it is the spread of misinformationon social media by bored teenagers

Actually, this has been in the news recently here in Houston. I think there have been some attacks, but I only skim headlines (local news is terrible).
