Buying flipped kickstarters

Where do you guys go to check prices and buy kickstarters you didn't back? I've been thinking about Level 99's Empyreal kickstarter edition but I was curious what the general clearing house is for the hundreds of people who just flip the damn things. This one might not be a good example since it's a little old.

Any thoughts? Obviously BGG store listings but those seem a tad high. Ebay? Something else?

You may also want to check the users on BGG who have it listed for trade and reach out to a couple of them offering to buy.

If it’s a game I’m serious about buying, I change my BGG subscription to the game to include games for sale and get notified when someone puts it up.

It helps because someone may post it up for a good price and I get a better chance of grabbing it.

There are also Facebook groups; I’ve noticed pricing on FB overall to be more reasonable on average than other venues. There are both overall selling groups for board games overallas well as game specific groups; for instance NEMESIS has a dedicated group.

I don't know if it's a result of COVID-19 (and people staying home & playing more games) but KS games on eBay have some really stupid high prices going on right now. With the kicker being that not a lot are actually selling for those stupid high prices. Not sure if there are just way too many wannabe flippers out there, or if people truly think they are going to get $500 for some lame CMON KS they paid $150 for.

I agree that BGG is the better bet if you want lower prices, as there are many more of the "I just want the game to go to a good home" type people rather than the "I want 5x what I paid on KS last year" type people.

I've noticed that on ebay as well. I'm keeping my eye on BGG for a good price. Been thinking so much about Argent that I might be willing to shell out for the KS package on Empyreal (same designer) if it isn't more than just buying it from lvl99.
