R.I.P. Sir Ian Holm

"It is with great sadness we can confirm that the actor Sir Ian Holm CBE passed away this morning at the age of 88," his agent said in a statement.
"He died peacefully in hospital with his family and carer," he added.

His illness was Parkinson's-related, his agent confirmed.

The only man to play both Bilbo and Frodo. His latter turn in the radio adaptation is magical. But then, so were many of his performances.

My first Ian Holm performance was his King Lear - watched in high school and remember enjoying it. The man had energy.
