Pretty sure wolvendancer left us. I've seen him on BGG complaining about Labyrinth. I don't miss him.

I think he has left the Fort as well. Don't think he quite dug the vibe here. Maybe one too many internet hissy fits.
I do miss his commentary, however, I thought he had some worthwhile observations to share.

I've been a lurker since the blog.

How come robartin (Robert Martin) has not been as active as he was when F:A first started?

He used to even write articles

He's our JD Salinger. He pops up every now and then but mainly in Diplomacy threads.

Welcome to the Fort groth (even if you have been here awhile)!

Hey, I came across this thread today as I browsed the site for the first time in months... so I thought I'd give a small update...

I didn't really want to leave the site, or anything like that. I just starting coming less and less as I gamed less and less... The last few months I've played very few boardgames as my main gaming partner, my gf, lost her interest, mostly due to lack of time and work pressures. I also have been much more active with my music (btw, that's the only new site I've been working on: www.theforeigncharacters.net ) and have also been trying to get out more and do some sports, specifically, I've started skating again when I discovered longboards. Now I get out to skate whenever I can :)

So, now that the summer is here and we're on vacation we've started playing a bit again, although now that my older son is growing up, he's becoming my main gaming partner :) We just got the "new" Dungeon Quest and a couple of lighter games (first time I bought a new game in a looooong time). I never expected to get DQ, but it was sort of an impulse buy and so far I'm really enjoying it...

Hopefully I'll post some of my thoughts on the game now that I'm not so busy :)

Thanks for the update, maka.

You're still spoken of fondly when someone references Marvel Heroes.

hehe :) thanks! I still love the game, but we don't play it much although my son does enjoy it and now that he reads quite well, he can play the full game (we used to play without the card effects because he had a hard time reading them) so I'm sure it still has some life in it :)

btw, the site looks really nice since I last visited it, and I just noticed the "thank you" button... that's really weird :D

It can only be used sarcastically.

Oh wow, I didn't know my avatar had been on the sides of milk cartoons! Thanks for looking out for me guys. The short story is since moving to Texas and starting my masters program I haven't really been playing any board games. Then this winter I got horribly addicted to the Ultimate Team mode of FIFA 11. I didn't really feel like I had anything to add to the board games discussion and as I was the only one playing FIFA 11 (and that was the only thing I was playing) I didn't have much to add to the video games discussion either. I spent my team reading and posting on the FIFA forums and also indulging in my other new nerd hobby: Collecting LEGOs.

But one day a few weeks ago on a whim I came to the site and saw a post by Jack White on Mordheim and my obsession with that game was renewed. Now it's summer time, and I was talking a summer class and it's done so I've got lots of free time on my hands and my FIFA Ultimate Team obsession has died down to mere embers from the raging fire that it was. So expect to see me a little more active, at least until the fall semester starts.

I believe he was sufficiently irritated by the recent furore over "protected" members to leave permanently. It's a great shame - he was a founding member and contributed a lot of interesting and entertaining stuff over the years, and I hope he reconsiders one day. But to each their own.
