Lost Posts was created by ubarose
The lost posts have nothing to do with the upgrade. The server failed, and the system files were corrupted. Right now that appears to be the cause of the lost data. All the sites on the server had to be migrated to a new server, and were restored from back up. Looks like we lost everything that was created after the back-up was made. This makes me sad, since we had some really good discussions going. However, we have our memories of those discussions, and the fact they happened is what is important.
Also, at this time the server is running pretty slowly. They are still working on restoration of all the sites, which is impacting all sites on the server.

I think any PMs sent after the backup was made were also lost. My outbox no longer shows one I sent last night.

Yep. Anything created after the daily back-up was created would be lost - PMs, comments, any articles submitted, any new registrations, any profile changes...

It's sad to think that I may be the only person who happened to log on just in time to read through Steve Weeks' heartfelt apology to the international gaming community. It was accompanied by a video of him performing an acoustic rendition of Social Distortion's "I Was Wrong". Powerful, moving stuff. Too bad it was lost.

Grudunza's addiction post is still there. I am going to print that one out. That thread is meaningful. Thirstyman's tearful confession that he has never actually played ASL is gone forever.
