For one off interviews and what-not, that'd probably be perfectly fine. If the standard format is multiple people contributing to a conversation, you really want people recording their own tracks. On a single recording like that, you wouldn't be able to muffle a person or cut out any background noise or anything like that.

I think posts should have tags for when one wishes to search, for one. Might help SEO quite a bit.

Try the search tab at the top of the forum. It’s pretty robust. You can get a pretty granular search.

Miniature Market dumped you guys and added Spikey Bits in your place?!? Spikey Bits has been click bait garbage to a greater degree than even something like BoLS.

(Sorry, just received the email from Miniature Market.)

Yeah, I laughed at that...Spikey Bits is TERRIBLE. I love how all of their articles end with one of those stupid "call to action" statements - "are you going to be buying the plastic Thunderhawk? How many are you buying? What color are you going to paint them?"

And there are no replies.

They should have gone for BoLS or Faeit if they wanted that kind of content.

So, I’m thinking about games and sketching out an influence diagram with the “value node” being “player engagement.” Interestingly, the only two nodes that are not influenced by other nodes so far are “setting” and “mechanisms.” I think that’s interesting because one question I’m often asked is, “Do you start a design with theme or mechanisms?”

I hope to use the diagram as a foundation for some articles discussing game design and development.

I leave the mainland for a few weeks, and y'all go crazy.

I shall rebel against the philistine sentiment which Barnes and Look have stated that trash is dead. The resistance still lives.
I guess I should change my name to Hiroo Onoda.

Maybe they are right.
Francotrash is still alive and well, at least. Vive la résistance!

I've been in Puerto Rico. That story is in the politics thread.

Just wanted to make sure that EVERYONE KNOWS all sorts of stuff is still going on behind the scenes.

It might look like change has stalled, but that's because Ubarose is working tirelessly behind the scenes getting a bunch of tech stuff done. Shifting things round on the forum - which I understand lead to a thread being accidentally deleted - re-indexing the site with Google, ensuring all the re-directs work, updating the domain certificate and a bunch of other stuff of which I'm only dimly aware.

Barnes, meanwhile, in his new editor in chief role, is marshalling new staff and content for you all to enjoy over the summer months.

I'm having a great time watching them work.

Stuff is still happening. Bear with us. I don't know if we're gearing up for a grand relaunch or a soft launch and I don't know if, when we do, it'll actually be successful in bringing a new audience to the site. But that's the plan and folk are working to make it happen. Bear with us, please, and thank you for your patience.

Maybe you did, but I didn't get anything. PMs have been spotty the last few times I've tried to use them.
