When I was just kid, I remember being completely enthralled with Hulk Hogan.  Yes, I was a little Hulkamaniac.  My best friend and I lived and breathed professional wrestling, watching it at every possible time it was on TV and playing with our toys incessantly.  My dad even took us to see live wrestling once.  Oh, the pomp and circumstance around guys like the Macho Man (all puns intended), Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ricky Steamboat, and yes, even Hulk Hogan.  We eventually grew out of it but were drawn back in several years ago and it felt like nothing except the names had changed.  It still managed to captivate us and provide us with all the fun of our youth.  I remembered why I loved it then and the nostalgia brought the happiness flooding back.

It's a shame the cost on this is so crazy prohibitive. It sounds like a lot of fun and I'd love to try it.

They totally missed, thematically, here. Two faces should've been hits, and two should've been a "stomp". The only way a hit counts is if you roll a hit and a matching "stomp". After all, when have you ever seen a wrestler throw a hook without stomping the mat? :)

One more thing: It's awesome that you can try to knock opponents' dice out of the ring, causing them to lose a die. That's cool as hell. What I can see happening, though, is someone not being ~exactly~ simultaneous and trying to delay a half-step to get an edge in knocking their dice out.

But, as we know, bringing a chair into the ring isn't legal either, so maybe that's just thematic.

They had 1 copy left on Amazon last night for $40 plus prime shipping from Game Salute, but it's gone now. Hopefully Game Salute will restock it at some point.

And a couple copies left here if people are interested: www.boardgamebliss.com/products/luchador...ce?variant=837043813

(And remember $1 CAD is approximately $.80 USD)

Great review! Now I want so thanks for that. Does the game support campaign play with feuds and championships?

It comes with championship belts and rules for how to go about becoming the number 1 contender. It would require a bit of bookkeeping and would make for one hell of a narrative.
I like the idea of campaigns for feuds. You could book an entire promotion if you had rules for that.

Wadenels, glad you got a copy. It's awesome.
