Thanks for that. Ironically - I look at it now and cringe a bit......but - I was doing it just for me. I wanted it playable and we did game it both at Brickvention and at home with mates.

I hadn't got the kids into Talisman.....it was still sitting in the cupboard (along with Dungeonquest ..... thinking about doing that in Lego.....many little lego rooms ready to be placed into a large lego grid within a castle border......but that's for another day....).

All I'd done beforehand was google "Lego Talisman" and confirm that it hadn't been done. What I didn't realise was that there were 3rd and 4th eds of the game or that there was online version.

When exhibiting it was cool the number of people who were either telling me all about FFG vs Gamesworkshop; the 4th ed, the online.....and how they'd played it with their dad, or it was in the cupboard and would definitely be coming out again or......etc etc.

When Nomad games came across it - I discovered the Talisman facebook community too (including in Poland!!). So - that's why the next incarnation of this project is being more heavily invested in - - because I now know there's an audience out there who will appreciate the effort that I put in. And I want to create something more akin to the 'vision' that I have for it. But there's a lot of lego building techniques to master along the way.......

Talisman was very popular in Poland and still has many fans as it is one of the first published hobby games.

Just want to reiterate what others have said: TALISMAN is a ton of fun and this Lego build of it is so awesome. You should beam with pride. Amazing work.

I am really glad to hear it's big in Poland, too! What an interesting tidbit.

re Talisman Island - I haven't really explored this much - - I came across the Facebook group (I'm following a couple of Talisman FB groups; in particular the 1st/2nd ed'n group).

Talisman Island FB did post regarding it back in Jan 2017......and a fellow named Mike McGraw commented "look, another rip off of what I created 3 years ago".....I indicated to him that I'd never seen anything he might have done, and my googling "Lego talisman" brought up nothing and I'd love to see what he'd done.......never heard from him.

Ah well. What can you do.....btw - seeing the release of the Batman Talisman......it's interesting, my daughter and I have been hatching a plan once I've finished this next incarnation of my Lego Talisman to then rework it as Lego Harry Potter Talisman.......although my other grand desire is to build a Lego "House that Beebo built" (google it, great kids book).

@MunroMike

Mike McGraw missed an opportunity to make an internet friend with common interests. His loss.
