Ralph Breaks the Internet - Barney's Incorrect Five Second Reviews

Surprisingly deep for an animated movie, really getting into the weeds on friendship and insecurity.

I did not see the first Wreck it Ralph, but that didn't stop neither Emily (my 7-yr old girl) nor myself from really enjoying this. I was sure Sarah Silverman's voice was going to really start grinding my gears after ten minutes, but it strangely became more affecting as you start to really like her character.

These messages on friendship and insecurity are really great messages to convey, but this for sure will fall on deaf ears for young kids (which is good, they shouldn't worry about this stuff just yet). The animation is gorgeous and it's fun being exposed to so many Disney and internet properties in rapid succession.

In the end, it's a film more for your heart than your brain, but it exceeded my expectations by gigabytes so I certainly recommend it. Good for both kids and adults.

I liked this movie more for Ralph and Vanillope than the setting. Internet, meh. But their characters are great and after two films feel as indispensable as Buzz and Woody or Mike and Sully. The relationship is genuinely sweet and charming, and the messages about friendships going through changes is really some pretty heavy stuff for kids who haven’t had that happen yet. The princess stuff was the best, and I’d love to see Disney play looser with them again...without overdoing it, which would likely be the outcome.

Saw it last night completely unplanned because we remembered it was $5 on the way to get our Christmas tree. Worth it.

Barney, you gotta see the first one! Much better. This one had some great moments and ideas, though. I don't know why, but something about the million Ralphs climbing all over each other was genuinely disturbing to me. I had trouble watching that whole section.
