It looks like we will be getting Batman Talisman. This...

Sneak, fight and search your way to victory in this re-imagined version of Talisman. With sights set on a villain and multiple obstacles ahead, players navigate through Arkham Asylum to evade orderlies, officers, and Batman, Robin, and Batgirl to release the inmates and become King or Queen of the underworld.

I still think Adventure Time Talisman would be best Talisman.

Some games, like Adventure Time Munchkin, and Adventure Time Love Letter are better for it since the theme works so well with the design.

I'm not a Munchkin fan at all, but I have no problem playing the Adventure Time version.

Batman? I just dunno.

Yeah, I just don’t know about this. For kids I am so glad this is happening, as I wished I had a Batman game as good as Talisman when I was a kid. But for everyone else, myself included, I think this is a lost opportunity. I’d really been hoping for a setting/IP that didnt have such a serious tone, that’s what Talisman really needs at this point. The game is stupid, we all know that, lets give it the setting it deserves.

I agree with the above, Adventure Time is perfect for this... also sets the right tone, as Josh mentioned. But I'm sure these other themes will be fine too. I think there is room to make little changes to make the game better, I'm curious if these different reskins will have new rules.

Seems like a tone deaf thematic mismatch, much like Batman Love Letter. Do not want.

8 year old me would have been over the moon for this game. I'd get to be Batgirl and fight bad guys and get cool gear and a motorcycle...

I think maybe 8 year old me might be talking grown up me into wanting to be Batgirl and fight bad guys and get cool gear and a motorcycle.

I would have been all over this.

Wake me up when Ghostbusters Talisman drops next year.

If we get Adam West, Julie Newmar, Burgess Meredith, etc. then I'll take back my skepticism.

THAT is the Batman game I've always wanted, and honestly, the only Batman that matters.

Eh. I'm with Josh on this one: the game is pretty simplistic, despite the fact that we all had/continue to have a great time with it. Does adding Batman to it make it any more interesting? This isn't that far away from any of the other Batman-themed releases by Parker Brothers or Hasbro over the years: roll and move, do something, maybe run into the Riddler, whoever catches the most crooks by the end wins.

The other annoying aspect is that I'm kind of a Batman purist. Atmospherics are important with the character and if this is going to be on the level of a Parker Brothers offering or the inane 60s TV show, then I'm completely put off; already including the fact that I have precious little interest in ever playing Talisman again.

You’re 100% right, atmosphere is essential to this character, no matter which iteration you’re dealing with. It’s the dark, serious comic book Batman they’re dealing with here. Like, 40k, which I also thought was a bad fit for Talisman’s rules despite liking Relic more than Talisman, is not just a grim dark theme, it’s THE grim dark theme, and even that has more room for whimsey with its pitch black 2000 AD-esque humor than the comic book version of Batman. It’s a bad fit, there really isn’t any argument there, nobody should be making excuses for it. There’s also that Talisman is a competitive game, there’s no reason why Batman and the Bat-Family would be competing, and I AM SURE AS HELL NOT GOING TO PLAY A CO-OP TALISMAN. Not only do I not want to buy this game, I don’t even want to try it. I could play the old University Games Batman game from 1989, where everyone gets to be Batman, and it would be just as themeatically accurate and it would be over a whole lot sooner.
