Always nice to see any designer/publisher tackling a hockey game. Far too few available (mostly because any sport with continuous action is a nightmare to simulate in boardgame form.)

Looks interesting but I wish it had a bit more sim elements. No dump/chase, hitting is a bit wonky and abstracted, etc.

Really wish Brent Spivey would work on a hockey version of Techno Bowl. That resolution system is just so damn strong at emulating dynamic real-time movement.

The reaction die faces are a neat mechanism, but I agree. I'd be down for a good hockey game but would need it to be a lot fight-ier.

There was a print-n-play years back that was kind of cool. You moved players into positions and then moved the puck through the gaps. I'll see if I can find it again.

Hockey is a tough one to sim, and to some extent I usually figure that I should go out and actually play the game instead, and hockey is cheap enough to do it. A couple of sticks and a tennis ball to get started.

Didn't I read somewhere that he was actually doing that? Maybe I'm thinking of a different project of his.

Over a year ago, Brent had hinted that he would be talking about his next game. Then he never did.

He's mentioned in passing working on other games, but my impression was that a basketball NBA Jam-style design using the Techno Bowl bones would be next.

I would be down for a Basketball game. Presumably called Dubble Dr1bble
