CMON have 17 games not yet delivered. Some are preorders and not crowdfunding campaigns. Gamefound kind of blurs the line now allowing for beapoke preorder style campaigns without stretch goals.

KS doesn’t care. If they curtailed activities they would lose money and no scam or failure has stopped pledges coming in.

If only there was a way to exchange payment for games that you received right then and there.

Some more details came out: apparently Quimbly's has $7 mil to start and another $5 mil in the pipe (tied up in some process I never heard of). But still pretty clear they were clueless, as the poster broke down what a serious business plan would entail.

It's a bunch of people looking at Etsy shops and thinking: "These people are doing it small-scale! I'm the lone genius who can take it large-scale!" No, you're really not, because the reasons people aren't taking their niche businesses large-scale are because a) there's not enough demand and b) there's not enough margin in it. Most of the stuff you get from Etsy shops (Twilight Imperium accessories, etc.) are either very basic or still pretty shoddy, even though they serve their purpose. They're a distinct step down from professionally manufactured and produced board game components. Now, think about not only stepping into professional printing and production (boards, standees, cards) but also the incredibly-elaborate miniatures (using that term loosely for things like Cthulhu Wars) that are/were the hallmark of PG and it's kind of amazing that someone, at some point, among the Quimbley's people didn't stop and say: "Hey. The costs on these processes are pretty insane. Maybe we'd better reassess."

Ultimately, it should have stopped at “we’re considering taking on millions of dollars in debt, angry customers, broken businesses relationships, unclear quantities of assets, while working with wildly unreliable and erratic business partners, who are financially irresponsible, that harass and alienate their customer base… then turn that into our flagship product line!”

There needed to be someone who saw that and realized how that was a sure fire way to lose everything they had.

Considering the timing I wouldn't be surprised if it was somehow a PPP scam.

PG had already gotten such a forgiven loan during covid. It’s exactly the type of government handout they would rail against on their political channel, so of course they had their hands out for it.

Holy shit, SEVENTEEN? Is that right!?? CMON just announced an upcoming preorder for a new version of The Adventurers, a game I have a lot of fond nostalgia for. I admit, they got me curious to see what they intended to do with the game. But if this is game #18 on their production backlog, then fuck that.

Counting 18 now and that's not including C: DMD Fear of the Unknown, which they're claiming was delivered in December (Was it?) and, if so, still haven't removed from the list...

Fear of the Unknown was delivered to most parts of the world. Took a very long time but eventually got it in US.
