Your series is making me regret selling my collection in favor of keeping BattleLore 1st ed. Maybe I'll pick it up again down the road.

Ha! Sorry. I really do think it was a significant improvement. But when I brought it up in another thread a couple years back, MB was able to find all of it at decent prices, so it should still be out there when you get around to looking.

And, given that this series kind of rolled over and died, views-wise, maybe you were right about keeping 1st Edition and I don't know what I'm talking about.

So you bring a few times that there were complaints about power creep/ balance issues with this faction but don’t mention at the end what your conclusion on them was.
I loved the system of the game, but was ultimately let down by the faction balance. I can’t recall out of the base set factions which faction was stronger (I mean with the expansion units, I never played with just the base set), but I seem to recall that one was definitely favoured (I think it was the Dakan). Then the undead were just obviously stronger.
I ultimately sold it because of this. If there was ever a revised edition with better balance I’d definitely consider getting it.

Sorry. My conclusion was implied: I don't think there's any validity to the overall balance complaints, which is frequently the case in this style of game. Some people are better with one faction than the others. I do think there are units that aren't quite up to the level of others (as mentioned about the Barghests in this piece and the Grotesques with the Uthuk), but we've never had issues with one faction consistently beating the other two on a regular basis.
