Thanks for explaining what this product was, I didn't quite understand it. This is the good kind of fan service, to me. I don't mind modern 40k but I must say I don't care for the new Big Marines (Primaris).

It will be interesting to see what kind of support this gets from GW. I have never cared for their Google-like tendency for product line abandonment.

Amusing that the 2015 Horus Heresy mega box set was $150 back then and people were ready to take their pitchforks & torches directly to GW HQ. Now here we are with this latest HH mega box set clocking in at $250+ and I have honestly read people saying things like, "it's a really great value!" I wish I had GW's ability to mark up e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g to obscene levels and have people respond with "SOUNDS GOOD!" The 'take my money' gif really has become the dominant attitude in certain corners of the hobby.

I'm surprised that the Deluxe Tsuro-types aren't more involved with miniature gaming, where there is practically no ceiling to the "deluxification" that you can lavish on your collection.

Great write-up. This box is classic GW and I would have picked it up in a second if I weren't already neck-deep in Age of Sigmar sprues.

The new jungle/swamp-themed Warcry big box also looks really cool so far - not sure whether that will see 2022 release though. I am especially hoping that the terrain will include stilted huts with criss-crossing walkways.

AFAIK elevation doesn't play as much of a role in 40k as it does in the skirmish games, but does the Horus Heresy set suggest anything as far as terrain?

Adjusted for inflation, the Calth box would now be $183. For the extra $117, you'd essentially get another 5-piece terminator squad, a 10-piece tactical squad, a land raider, transfer sheets and a hardcover rulebook. The other components are probably a wash between the two sets. Yes, GW prices are insane, but just a land raider is $85. Within their pricing setup, it is a great deal for their customers.

I have a fully painted Betrayal at Calth with a foam insert, and am willing to sell. Make me an offer. I see it on ebay for around $300 but hey, I'm open to friend prices.

For crying out loud...how can anyone take a product review seriously if you don't even know enough about the game world to get BASIC info right. Corvus power armor is Mk VI, not Mk IV. SIX, not four.
