Great write-up. This box is classic GW and I would have picked it up in a second if I weren't already neck-deep in Age of Sigmar sprues.
The new jungle/swamp-themed Warcry big box also looks really cool so far - not sure whether that will see 2022 release though. I am especially hoping that the terrain will include stilted huts with criss-crossing walkways.
AFAIK elevation doesn't play as much of a role in 40k as it does in the skirmish games, but does the Horus Heresy set suggest anything as far as terrain?

Now here we are with this latest HH mega box set clocking in at $250+ and I have honestly read people saying things like, "it's a really great value!" I wish I had GW's ability to mark up e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g to obscene levels and have people respond with "SOUNDS GOOD!" The 'take my money' gif really has become the dominant attitude in certain corners of the hobby.
Adjusted for inflation, the Calth box would now be $183. For the extra $117, you'd essentially get another 5-piece terminator squad, a 10-piece tactical squad, a land raider, transfer sheets and a hardcover rulebook. The other components are probably a wash between the two sets. Yes, GW prices are insane, but just a land raider is $85. Within their pricing setup, it is a great deal for their customers.
