A cooperative effort to create the best film before money or time runs out, Roll, Camera! is an example of great design.

Great review.

I really want to try this game, but the visual style is really off-putting. It's certainly not a strong enough turnoff to ruin a quality game, but it's enough for me to keep placing other titles above it in my orbit.

Thanks! I actually really liked the visual style of it. I'm a fan of the bean people because they're very casual yet very effective in delivering the game's message (I was also a fan of Larry Marder's Beanworld, way back in the day) and I thought the board and components were all really clean, so it was immediately apparent what went with what. You could probably argue that it is a little spartan in that respect, but something about it just really worked for me, like the rest of the game. I was afraid that I was gushing a bit too much but I was just surprised that it had such appeal. I went ahead and ordered the two small expansions for it...
