The factions are all pulled from High Fantasy. (High Fantasy...

1,2,3,4...Hey, Ho, let's go! Wroth is a lightning quick one to four player area control game with bombastic visuals, asymmetrical faction powers, and some brilliant mechanisms that keep the game moving at a blistering pace.

It sounds like it might be an interesting thing, but I find the graphic design to be repellent...

As does my wife but I kind of dig it. It's slam dancing in a phone booth troops on a map.

I love the art style. The fact that you can reach the majority of spaces in one round made me think of Kemet, where it's just impossible to get away from the others. Gameplay sounds fundamentally different, but is there a similarity in the feeling at all?

Definitely in regards to a tight map and constant combat. It doesn't have the ramp up of adding power tiles like Kemet, instead giving you all your tools at the onset so you are working to get them out instead of building them up.

This one seems intriguing. Please update us as you get more plays in at different counts.

Will do. I rarely post to the lovely "what have you been playing" thread here because I tend to save most of my thoughts for the reviews but after a review goes live, I can follow up here. I will say I won't be doing more of the co-op mode at three and four players, that was brutal.

I don't play this kind of game for co-op anyway. I wish publishers would quit catering to the solo crowd for games that are not meant for it. Publishers are desperate to make their game appeal to all audiences, and it does NOT make the game better for it. Ask me how I know.
