I don’t think that the game is the only place where there’s a disaster going on.
Check those “deluxe” upgrades. Taller bridges? You have to be shitting me.

And in true kickstarter fashion, there's a shiny expansion map locked away in the highest stretch goal. I'm sure it's not a map that was either A.) lightly playtested or B.) used in early prototypes and planned to be scrapped, right guys? Right??

I think this is the first real fallout we've seen from the Stronghold/IBC merger. IBC Kickstarts everything and I'll bet we see Stronghold using Kickstarter for more and more.

Puts a new spin on the joke of trying to sell a bridge to a sucker.

First thing I thought was "Quadropolis art" and came away with the same feeling. Truth be told the prototype box art was far superior. You can see it on the Kickstarter page.
Does not look like it came from the Stronghold side of the house.

Frohike wrote: Sorry this will probably trigger Josh re: art etc, but ... I wish Stronghold would stop using William Bricker's work for everything. It just adds an amateur visual layer that they could really do without at this point. They also seem to be stuck on a certain style of graphic design & typography that does not stack up well against current standards. They might have been good enough back when Survive! took off, but it's time to skill up a little I think.
*checks current Stronghold games in collection*
Auztralia - Artist: Jame Colmer (love the art in this)
Spring Meadow and Cottage Garden - Artist Andrea Boekhoff (meshes well with the theme)
Going, Going, Gone - Artist William Bricker (Oh....my....this is....awful? Odd? a huge detriment to the game? All of the above?)

I just looked it up and would go so far as to say that the original cover was actually good! Better font, stark contrast on the art, generally appealing. Not amazing, but evocative of the theme.
Man Pointing at Thing is a tried and true tradition in board game covers I guess. Looks awful here.
