Hey, I'm actually pretty excited about this! I've played a ton of Through the Ages in 2019 (mostly through the app, but some F2F) and I think more content would be great.
Looks like this will be exactly what it says on the box, new leaders and wonders. I think that's just about right. I hope they take a light touch with new mechanics.

I actually bought it and had it delivered to my parents, then brought it back in my suitcase when I went to the US for meetings earlier this year. That's what devotion to a game looks like!

The app is outstanding, but I feel like I miss the physicality of the actual game. I think I actually play better in person too, since I tend to think about what I'm doing a bit more.
Both Through the Ages and Twilight Struggle (another great app) are more enjoyable in person for me. I actually think that when I play the app exclusively for a long time it lowers my enjoyment of the design. Getting in front of a real person helps immensely.

The beta for this is real fun. Cant wait for the actual release. Definitely my most anticipated thing this year.

I play way better in person too. Something about my automatic carelessness in the electronic format bc the stakes feel extra low. I wonder if it's be different if I played any of the games people play competitively (DOTA, League, Overwatch, etc).

trailer, release date, shows some new cards etc. having played the beta a lot i gotta say its hard to go back to playing without it. super excited for this still.
also, i definitely lose focus playing async as well. especially if i start more than a couple games and try to juggle them. the tradeoff being it really sharpens your ability to read the gamestate effectively at a glance either in person or in the app.

Hey this is out now, $4.99 cross platform buy. I think this is just the new way to play TTA. hard to go back to just the base, even though I love the base game deeply.
