I traded back in Memoir-44 a couple of months ago for some nostalgia (had a big set 15 years ago) but I'm still keen to get this, unfortunately I don't think it will be as nice a price in the UK than in the US ... whoops, I am mistaken, we appear to have reasonably priced copies.

Update:
Looks great, but reading the description/press on the DoW site and reviews on BGG (and the reduced game content compared to M-44) this is designed to be an introductory game for younger and new gamers - that isn't me, I got M-44 in again just for some light casual gaming and I don't need anything lighter.

Did you get the new edition of Memoir 44? Doesn't look like any massive changes, only thing I noticed was hills, elevation, and some scenarios.

Omg. It just dawned on me that Star Wars is the gen x version of world war 2. I can list off Empire units like my dad can list off German tanks.

I have no idea, I just got it in a Math Trade on BGG. I haven't played it for 15 years but I thought there was elevation and hills in the original version.
UPDATE: Just checked the original rules and the current rules for Hills, it just seems that the current rules adds in all the different types of hills that came in the expansions (i.e. Sea Bluffs, Cliffs, Steep Hills) plus added a new Terrain Height rule because of those extra hill types.
