Edited to thread rules.

1. Successors 3d.
2. ATS
3. Raid on St. Nazaire
4. Here I Stand
5. GCACW series (pick any one; they're all better than any other ACW game out there)

1. Advanced Tobruk (ASL partizans, please, hold your fire. The system has matured a lot since 1.0. It's never going to be ASL but it's got way more depth than Lock-n-Load's tactical system (which ain't bad) and I think ATS' impulse-based system is more interactive and engaging than ASL's interrupt-type approach)

Seconded. I had both, but I got rid of ASL and kept ATS. The rules still have a hell of a lot of problems, but those are pretty easily solved with a few ad hoc rulings, and the game does a decent job of presenting the coolest parts of ASL with a fraction of the overhead.

This isn't about making recommendations or honorable mentions. Its supposed to be a list of just your five favorites.

Sorry. Though those are my 5 favorites in each of those 3 categories, it's corrected.

Dogmatix, I hope you captured what you wrote somewhere. Solo vs. online vs. face to face wargames recommendations are very helpful.
