I usually hate game videos, but the ones on the first page of this thread helped me a lot in getting a handle on it.
The rulebook is not ideal for learning, especially since half the rules are hidden in the Glossary under their definition.
Also, get the current Joel version of the Vassal module, if it's linked in the thread. If not, we'll hook you up. Worlds better than the 1.0.3 public version.
Hey Joel, did you ever publish that?

Hey Stoic, my recommendation would be to watch the videos here to learn the game.stoic wrote: I'd like to play if someone will help me learn the game.
I think it's a pretty good tutorial. Feel free to ask any questions here in this thread. If you get a chance I suggest you download the PP module that our very own JoelCF has modified from the one on the VASSAL website. When you feel comfortable post here and I'll get another game going.

I don't mind stepping in or out of a game to make the right numbers up. I guess in theory it plays up to 6 but I think that would be pretty crazy. Seems like 3-4 is about the right size.
Craniac expressed some interest as well, then disappeared upthread.

In the past, we had a couple of FAT PBEM Titan games going on simultaneously when interest was at its peak.

If there's two or three I can start a new game. If we have four, we can split into two groups and Doc and I can each herd one game.
You'll be up to speed on the rules after one game, I'd think.
There were some questions about Vassal itself, most of that is probably covered pretty well in their Getting Started guide. The PBEM Log File section is the most relevant there.
Get the good 1.1 version of the module (thanks, Joel) from this thread, and a 3.2.x version of Vassal.
Doc or I will do the game setup, so you don't even have to worry about that. In-game questions and misplays are also totally okay. Don't sweat it, but do watch the videos to know what to expect. The details will click when you start moving some cards around.
When we see some "READY!" posts, we can get it rolling.

Well, after watching the videos a few times and reading through the rules, I think I'm ready to give it a go with some real play. My copy hasn't arrived from Germany yet.
I've got Vassal installed and the Pax module. I created a Vassal account. Now what?

So I downloaded Joel's module. I assume the next step is to start up Vassal and 'import module..' . But when I do that I get an error: can't open in Vassal. I have the latest Vassal version and I'm using a Mac.
I've begged, pleaded, and implored the developers to take the simple step of renaming that tool in the File menu to "Import ADC2 module" to once and for all eliminate all the confusion here...but they've never listened.
** ADC2 = Aide de Camp 2, an ancient, terrible, long-defunct gaming software program that someone actually had the gall to charge money for back in the day
