Oath on TTS

Looking for players interested in trying out Oath on TTS. The current kit is by all accounts the finished product bar the solo AI and some final art/wording tweaks so it’s the full game and not a playtest.

Played once with GarySax and super keen to give it another whirl (pun intended), so it will be an easygoing learning game.

I’m organising a game this week, so far with myself and Sornars onboard, flexible on the day but the time will be c.8pm/9pm UK so 12pm/1pm Pacific.

I'm way into this. I can do Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday.

Three players so far, room for a fourth but it’s not recommended to go to five on a first game.

In for US evenings at some point. US midday is difficult on weekdays.

This week I can't do a US weeknight with you, Not Sure, since I'm playing Empyreal with ScottF on our normal Wednesday game night thing (everyone is welcome to join, btw, ScottF is teaching)... though next week I'd be enthused for it on virtually any weeknight. You know where to find me.

I’m trying to keep my weekend clear in the vague hope we’ll find time for some more John Company but if that isn’t happening then I can make up numbers for anyone stateside wanting to play midday Sat/Sun. Anything up to a 2pm Pacific start time would work for me.

Playing again with Sornars this Saturday Noon Pacific / 8pm UK, room for one or two more players.

I'm interested. I've never played or really know anything about it. I'll try and read the rules beforehand.

I'll let you guys know when I get the rules clarifications in the other thread.

Also, on BGG the TTS kit maker is correcting some bugs with relic discards, cloning, and chronicle saves so we'll want to upgrade the kit as soon as those release.

I noticed today that the rule that we messed up on trading for secrets we then messed up even more the other way - to clarify you get one secret for each face up adviser that matches the card you put the favour on, and you don't get jack if you don't have a matching adviser. So I think we were actually getting the right result even though we were playing it wrong, until we thought we were playing it wrong and then we did it even more wrong.

Trading for favour - pay one secret to get one favour from the card plus an extra one for each face-up adviser that matches suit (you don't count other cards at your site, which I think we did a couple of times)

Trading for secrets - pay two favour to get one secret for each face-up adviser that matches the suit of the card you played on. Cards at site give you nothing, including the one you played on.

edit: another rules catch - (except for battle plans) you can use actions on cards at your current site even if you don't rule them and regardless of who rules them. I'm pretty sure that we stopped an action from happening a couple of times because of rule.

Yeah, I know the "who rules" issue came up a time or two on Portal. I'll go back through those more carefully as well.

I saw the same thing about Secrets when I went back over the rules, and put it in the other thread. I don't recall using sites for multiple suited cards, but maybe we did. It's hard to tell when things are flying furiously.

I think we were probably counting Secrets correctly most of the time, and then went to overcounting them rather than undercounting them all along.
