I will have to be away from home for approximately two months for some work training, but I do not want to lug my frankly large desktop tower with me.

So I was wondering: does anyone have any experience with creating VPN/remote connections to their rig and trying to play games on them?

I imagine latency would be a real problem, but I would like to heart from anyone with firsthand experience.
