Mankind had not seen the Cylons for fifty years, their long-standing truce holding firm. But the Cylons had been biding their time...and they had a plan.
Klaxons sound aboard the Galactica!
Saul Tigh groggily got to his feet. What in the frak was all this ruckus about? Not another godsdamned drill! Bill Adama wasn't due back from Caprica for another 48 hours, on leave. Was this his idea of a joke?
Gaeta's voice squawked over the comm. "We are under attack! Repeat! We are under attack! This is not a drill! Cylons are attacking Caprica and the entire fleet!
Saul felt as though he was in a dream. His head pounding, he quickly pulled on his uniform and staggered out into the hallway. Cylons? Frakking toasters, the lot of them. Did those metallic cowards really have the gall to attack after all these years?
News on the bridge was grim. It was happening all too fast for him to take in. Cylons had disabled the entire planetary defense system, and had unleashed their nuclear arsenal on Caprica. The fleet had been all but destroyed; only Galactica's short venture away from planetside kept it from the initial siege.
"Battlestations!" Tigh barked, but based on the information he was receiving he knew that to rush in was suicide. Already Galactica was being bombarded by hails from civilian vessels in the area, confused, shaken, scared, and looking for any guidance, any assistance they could give.
Suddenly, it dawned on Saul that Bill was still planetside. "My gods!" he growled. "Gaeta! We need to set a course back to Caprica!"
Gaeta grimaced visibly. "Sir, the Cylon fleet has already begun sweeping the sectors of each of the twelve colonies. Every last colony has been attacked. There...was a transmission from Admiral Adama, but..." his voice faltered.
Saul Tigh's mind raced. He hesitated for just a moment, looking at the faces of the Galactica crew. Right now he wanted nothing more than to bury himself in the nearest bottle. He knew he wasn't half the leader Bill Adama was, and not by a longshot. But if they were to hesitate now....they would be lost.
With a visibly trembling hand, he grabbed the comm.
"This...this is the XO. Caprica and the remainder of the colonies are under attack by the entire Cylon fleet. We are preparing to engage FTL and jump to a safe distance, to formulate a plan. As of this moment, Bill Adama is...presumed lost. I am now taking command of the Galactica. All personnel to your stations!"

KINGPUT (Saul Tigh) receives the Admiral card and 2 nuke tokens!
Admiral:
When the Fleet jumps, you draw 2 Destination Cards and choose 1.
You Control the nuke tokens.
Action: Launch 1 nuke at a basestar (the nuke is removed from the game.)
Nukes: 1-2 Basestar damaged twice: 3-6 Basestar Destroyed; 7-8 Basestar Destroyed and destroy 3 raiders in the same area.

Aboard Colonial One:
Laura Roslin stood there, unblinking for several minutes.
"No one...from the President's office...has responded?" she gasped.
"No ma'am."
She tried to get her bearings for a second. Every person on the lengthy queue for succession of the Presidency was missing. Every civilian ship had joined with Galactica and hurredly made the jump away from Caprica as explosions and chaos reigned all around them.
Yet no one...other than her...stood in the line for the Presidency. Laura Roslin. School Teacher. Now tasked with becoming the political leader of what was left of the human race.
There would be time for ceremony later. "What is the Galactica telling us?" she asked.
"Saul Tigh addressed the crew of the Galactica about an hour ago. He...said that their only hope was to seek out the lost 13th colony. The only survivors of the original twelve colonies are now a part of this fleet."
"The thirteenth colony?" Laura intoned. All of this was...familiar to her somehow, as though something that had come to her in a dream. Yes, this legendary colony was their only hope, somehow deep inside she knew it.
"Get...Admiral Tigh on the comm for me," Laura finally responded. "He and I have a lot to talk about."

DEATH AND TAXIS (Laura Roslin) receives the role of President and ownership of the Quorum deck!
President:
At the start of the game, draw 1 Quorum Card. You control the hand of Quorum Cards.
Action: Draw a Quorum Card into your hand.
Quorum cards can be played as an action and specialize in increasing resources and dealing with unrevealed Cylons.

The brief silence is broken suddenly. "Sir!" Gaeta says. "A Cylon basestar has just jumped into space near us. Multiple contacts on DRADIS."
"Get those FTL engines ready!" yelled Tigh. "Battlestations!"
"Sir," a voice came over the comm, obviously emotional. It was Apollo. "I've already scrambled the alert fighters, and we're moving to engage."
"Understood," responded Tigh. Having lost his father, Lee would be hungry for revenge. It was just that sort of fire that the fleet needed right now.
