Kara awoke, aware she was submerged completely in a watery, yet oily viscous substance. At first, she panicked, feeling as though she would drown.

Suddenly, a calmness hit her...memories that had been repressed. Things she had secretly done...plans that had been made. As she lay there under the surface, her eyes gleamed, suddenly very much aware at who she was, and the part she had played.

She rose slowly to the surface to see other eager faces greeting her. Helo was among them, though she didn't see the same flicker of recognition initially that she expected. It hit her with a snap--this wasn't HER Karl Agathon, only another....three?

Incredulous, she sat there gasping for a few seconds.

She became aware that someone was standing at the foot of her "bed", the sardonic smile of...it had all come back to her...John Cavil. Cylon model one. She had memories of his cruelty, but also...his kindness.


"Welcome, sister," he said, smiling. "Welcome home."

As she sat reading in her quarters, Laura Roslin was startled to hear a voice over the ship's speakers.

"Hello, Laura," said a voice. Kara's voice. The same Kara who had just shot Saul Tigh and killed herself in front of everyone. "Surprised to hear from me? Oh, I'm very much alive, and very happy about it. Right now, I'm on my way to Caprica. However..."

"I wanted you to know that right now, I have left you a very, very special gift on board your vessel. You can thank me, but you should thank Helo as well. If all goes according to plan, you should have maybe fifteen minutes left. The question is, Laura...who will you save? Anyone? Can you even save yourself? And if we can get a bomb on board the President's ship...will anyone in the fleet ever feel safe again? I think not, Madame ex-President. I think not."

There was a slight cackle.

"Your prophecies die with you," Kara said. "Goodbye, Laura."

You guys know the drill. Pre-load stuff needs to be gotten in there first, like Investigative Committee. If you'd like to pre-load a Declare Emergency in case the check fails by 2 or less, please PM that to me in advance.

Otherwise, it is up to SOUTHERNMAN (Count Baltar) to get the skill check officially started with either CARD PLAY or PASS.

Well, since all the cylons are out there won't be any Investigative Committee cards required so I can start.

Kara 4 has taken me by suprise - I was not aware of her stealth plan, so I am going to have to PASS.

That's your problem Baltar. You, like your race, are frakkin' weak and can only see the small picture. It would take longer to decimate your rag tag fugitive fleet than it would to break merely destroy your spirits.

Laura was startled when several marines came storming into her office, seemingly only seconds after the transmission had ended.

"We have to get you out of here, ma'am," the lead marine said. "We intercepted Starb...that THING's signal, and Tigh gave the order to scramble and rescue from his sick bay bed."

Laura was disoriented, still in shock.

"There's no time, ma'am," he said. "We have to hurry."



The marines loaded them up on board the waiting raptor with only seconds to spare. As they hurtled away quickly, an explosion began rippling through Colonial One, and it brilliantly, spectacularly burst into bright light.





Laura watched with tears in her eyes, and her entire body trembling with shock. She knew that what Kara had said was true...if they could get a bomb on board the President's vessel, how could anyone feel safe ever again?[/i]

"Why didn't you tell me we were going to frakking blow up the President's ship? I want peace! Peace between our races!"

She smiled at him.

"Whatever happens is God's will, Gaius. You know that. There may yet be peace. Have faith, Gaius."
