The Transformers, He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Real Ghostbusters, Star Wars, GI Joe, the 80s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, Thundercats, M.A.S.K., My Little Pony, She-Ra, Voltron, Inhumanoids, Dragon Magazine, White Dwarf, Jem & the Holograms, Pokémon, The LEGO Movie, countless other things you love that we’re made into Chinese plastic and the entire Disney “experience” all say, “Hello.”

The outrage over this is selective, hypocritical and, most of all, BORING.

He-man was a planned toy line before the cartoon was thought of...cartoon was an adlib in the toy pitch meeting.

As an aside about things we love, my mom saved my old Supernaturals, and my son loves them

It's not outrage, it's just not squeeing on demand.

I’m not squeeing over it, and if anyone is taking it seriously, then I want to keep a safe distance, but it’s clearly a joke. Applying criticism to it seems like a waste of time and energy?

I also don’t get the criticism of advertising. You’re gonna be advertised to, it’s inevitable and you can’t change it, deal with it. Whether you fall into the trap is on you, not them.

And here it was, I was trashing Todd Philips for his comments about comedy earlier this week. After seeing folks get offended by a free joke RPG, Star Wars cookware and a slew of other innocuous things, I think he might at least be on the right track. Outrage culture, Internet cynicism and being able to curate exposure to the outside world is making it really difficult to do anything, especially create. Like, why bother? Somebody is going to see it and because it wasn’t made for them, they’re going to take to their platform (also a bad idea we shouldn’t have allowed to happen), you’re going to hear about it. It’s fucking exhausting.

I mean, whatever, but for anyone to act like this is anything other than a commercial for fast food garbage is shameful.
