Also, I think I need to step away from the tetromino puzzles. I'm in too deep (also, they're hard).

Gary Sax wrote: I'm on the puzzle that you have on your keyboard right now with the large pattern of squares. I understand how the series of puzzles work but I spent about 30 minutes last night trying to solve that particular one.
That's the same sequence I solved but wasn't sure why until I explained what I did in a post that I wrote but didn't need to actually submit. The next sequence got weird so I moved on to something else and I'll come back to those.

The spoiler below discusses this puzzle pretty explicitly, including a means to solve it, and the grammar of these kinds of puzzles.
For quasi-obvious reasons, the two unoccupied squares need to be on the "outside." I worked out a bunch of other rules about where the long 4x1 can't be and so forth. But I just could not solve it. My kids could not solve it. I finally just went in a started carving out squares here and there until it worked. There's 153 ways to do this if the puzzle was blank, and based on the squares with puzzles pieces in them that must be included, it's smaller (91). I solved it, but the solution doesn't seem physically possible without re-orienting some pieces--maybe my pieces-must-be-fixed logic is wrong? I am puzzled by this puzzle.

I found my way to the treehouse area with the sunburst puzzles. After only two sequences, I got cocky and said to myself, "I got this!" and ran back to the village where there are a couple of doors with sunburst puzzles on them, all ready to break them wide open. Of course they involve deeper mechanics than I was aware of. Had to walk away deflated.
Also, I've been pushing hard on the +XX progress puzzles: [no specifics, just being safe in case you haven't discovered them yet]

Oh yeah man, I am all about the +XX puzzles.Disgustipater wrote: Where is that puzzle? The colored marsh area?

Warning: Spoiler! And now whenever I see things outside in real life that line up in a vaguely meaningful way, I get excited for a brief second before realizing I've been playing the game too much.
My current score is in this spoiler.
That puzzle above is in the Dye Swamp, yeah. I love the names we are describing for the different parts of the island. I have Japanese Tea Garden, Dye Swamp, Rusty Boat, Quarry, Sun Temple, Jetty, Boathouse, Sawmill, Pink Trees, Orange Grove, Castle, Town, Mountain, Greenhouse, The Start, Tree House, Riverwalk, Bamboo Forest, Nature Trail--the kids and I say things like, "Go to the lonely tree by the top of the Quarry" and can rush over there.
I have to start taking notes about where things are. I have screenshots of some puzzles but I don't remember where they are stashed.

They are, uhhh.
Anyway, I'm at the point where I kind of want to head for the endgame, maybe saving some things like

They are, uhhh.
Anyway, I'm at the point where I kind of want to head for the endgame, maybe saving some things like environment puzzles for later. But I have no idea what or where the endgame is (which may be a criticism of the game.)
Mountain spoilers below:
Warning: Spoiler!I have, like, 8 or 9 lasers hitting the mountain and the box there is opened, but I can't figure out a way to solve the puzzle the statues are standing on. Any hints? Is this even where I need to be?
Do me a favor and edit your post a little to at most hint at the movies (I hinted in my first post, iguanaDitty mentions one of the "stars" as it were.) Finding the movie spot and tying it to those puzzles is a thing for folks to work out. Also, refer to the environment puzzles as +XX puzzles to align with earlier thread lingo and avoid telling folks there are such a thing.
You are ahead of me in the game, Lego. But not so much farther that I can't give you the heads up. The below spoiler is How To See The End.
The gate to the home area is how you get to the End. The gate, the first follow-the-wires-puzzle that you solved, is here. It's attached to a huge tower. I am pretty sure firing all the lasers at the mountain will fire a second laser that re-lights this tower, because it turned off when you solved the gate's puzzle at the beginning of the game. Maybe you need to solve the mountain puzzle from in the courtyard?--because I don't think you can sneak back in here if the door is lit. When in the courtyard, looking at the electrified gate--you see that it's a +XX puzzle. Solve it and you're out.

Gotta let me catch up then.Legomancer wrote: I don't want to "see" the end of the game, I want to get to the end of the game.

I took the night off, played Ultimate yesterday and it was windy and kicked my ass all over the field. I was out by 8 pm. Whoo, 40s!
Anyway. I am stuck in a couple of spots. The spoiler below talks about some specific puzzles and how I think I should solve them even though I am a failure.
The sound-based puzzles--I am at the one with the chirps + loon call that stereo around from ear to ear. I think I can't tell what's high and low on the loon call. I can hear some changes, but it doesn't register to me as lower one time versus another. I have tried waiting for the chirps in my left ear and the loon in my right and all that. I think I not getting something in a deep way.

Warning: Spoiler! There's a wooden gate, like the ones in the Japanese Tea Garden in the Town. I can see the pattern of broken wood slats behind it, and it seems like that puzzle is twinned to the wooden gate at the backdoor of the JTG--that one has no cues for solving, but it opens with the pattern from the wood slats from the one in Town. I was hoping it would open and indicate a twinned solution for the one in Town, but I don't see anything there. Any nudges on this one?
Or this one (the gate was opened and took the pic from the back just in case)?
Edit: Okay, I think I might see what you are talking about. You're saying the broken slats behind the top picture is the solution for the JTG back gate? If so, it's a coincidence. Those two have nothing to do with each other. They both have solutions specific to their own areas.

The first one is the one I am stuck on and you are a liar! ....OK, I will keep poking at it. I can't believe it's a coincidence though, no effing way. This game is developed like crazy, there's no way they'd have one solutionDisgustipater wrote: I am now able to flip the switch to trigger what I assume is the ending. I'm not sure if I should. I've read some stuff hinting that there is more after the seeing the credits the first time though (and continuing, not starting over?). Maybe I'll see if I can find some vague info.
Warning: Spoiler!I'm not able to follow which panel you are talking about. This one?

Heh, yeah, this is a bit much--but it's a puzzle game and it's still so new. I'd feel like a cad for blurting out this and that before it even goes on sale.Disgustipater wrote:
Warning: Spoiler!I just finished these. I think I might see your hang up, want a nudge? Or maybe I'm not giving you enough credit and it's something else.
