Bloodbowl Trailers

Hey folks

I've seen a few mentions here and there about this, but didn't see a thread [...which guarantees that someone will link me to an existing thread all about it in 5...4...3...2...].

Here is the site for the upcoming Blood Bowl PC, XBL, PSP, DS game.

While trailers are always a bit misleading, it looks friggin' great. And, if you wait through all the hype at the start of most trailers, you'll see that, in addition to the arcade-style gaming, there's [what appears to be anyway] a straight port of the boardgame version, right down to the gridmap....

Please buy this so that, unlike the (fun) Warhammer: Mark of Chaos game that BanDai released, there's subsequent support...like patches and additional content

I know, this should be great. It looks like it has a straight tabletop type mode that I am sooo down for.

There isn't much info here: a few new trailers, some screenshots, and a forum which is mostly full of hardcore fans complaining how the developers have already pushed back the release date by a year (so far). It looks like the game is going to offer both turn-based and real-time play, which is a little troublesome for AI development.

Good to see a topic on this -- wanted to share my Q&A with the Cyanide CEO -- and a league will be forming on the 360 (likely 360, although I'd personally prefer PC).

I'm doing a follow up next month as well.

Cool. I hope they kept in the halflings. I won several local leagues playing the larger races but I had so much fun playing the suicidal squishy half-pints. I felt like getting .500 out of that squad which took 5-6 casualties per match was a grander achievement.

At the moment, we officially announced that the following races will be in the box at the release: Chaos, Dwarfs, Goblins, Humans, Lizardmen, Orcs, Skaven and Wood Elves.

Looks like no halfers out of the gate, but hopefully there will be expansion teams made available down the road.

too bad there's no dark elves or high elves either. or norse. or undead!

I was really hoping for Undead, but I guess I will have to make do with Skaven till then.

XBLA DLC is ideal for new races, which I'm sure is what they're thinking if they're even marginal successful with this.

I was shocked that they didn't include the Dark Elves-- particularly when the CEO likes that race. Weird. That race is really popular with BB players. And to have the Gobbos but not the Halflings..woe to the coach that plays with the Goblins...unless hilarity is the goal.

But hopefully they'll release DLC stuff with new races if the game sells reasonably well.
