NES Classic Edition- SOLD OUT

Target #1, 8:30 am- "sorry we only had ten and they sold out right after we opened the doors"

Target #2, 8:45 am- Employee #1- "I don't know if we got any." Employee #2- "yeah, we got it but some guy bought every one we had."

GameStop, 9:00 am (one hour before opening)- five people in line. "They only got five."

Best Buy, 9:10 am- about 30 people in line. But they only handed out 20 pre sale tickets.

Fortunately I was checking last night and I happened to catch one when Best Buy put them on sale about 2am. I was trying to get another to give to my cousins for Christmas. But I guess not!

It's not like you couldn't already play Punch-Out!! On virtual console, I'm kind of surprised.

Blech. Looks like Nintendo is holding to their artificial scarcity platform...

I wish there was some way to make scalpers fuck off. Selling every copy to the same customer is.crap.

Yeah, walking up to Best Buy there was a young family with two kids that got turned away at the door...while these two typical "gamer geek" types sat their in their canvas chairs, watching them leave. If I had a ticket I would have given it to them. I've done it before, back when the Wii came out I got the last ticket at Target and I have it to the kid and his dad behind me.

I'm going to try Amazon but I'll probably just get mad.

Playing it now. There were only 3 at my local Target, gone in seconds. 10 at Best Buy, where I camped from 8 to 10AM with the rest of the Nintendo crazies in town. No extra controllers anywhere, so I may be camping Amazon at 2 anyway.

You're going to need Wii extension cables if you plan to play on your TV. The controller cable is 3 feet long :/

My original Xbox is chipped and has an emulator on it. I loaded it with every NES, SNES, SMS, GENESIS, TG16, game ever made.

It's fucking rad in every way. Makes me want to dust it off and play it.

How much is this retro thing anyhow?

I didn't even realize this came out today until a guy at work said he went by Target at 7:30 and they were already sold out. Another guy said his wife went all over and couldn't find one. Seriously, we did each Target only get 10? Did Nintendo not realize they were sitting on a gold mine here? The gift of the holidays?

Interesting review - sounds like if you manage to snag one, you'll want some extension cables.

Seriously, unless you're allergic to setting something up: Raspberry Pi 3 kit from Amazon + RetroPie + 2x Buffalo SNES USB Controllers.

Retropie wiki has everything you need to get started. Use Google to find some games.

No, YOU seriously. Please stop suggesting homebrew, labor-intensive, legally sketchy solutions to retro-gaming. It's not remotely what I want. I can probably play MEGA MAN or whatever the fuck online in 20 seconds if all I wanted was a MEGA MAN game.

I want to connect to my youth via this small, cool totem. I want this to be a hit, so I can connect even more deeply with a SNES version.

And a Gameboy version and a Gameboy Advance version ...

They lit it up around 2:02PM and it took about 3 minutes before the URL started throwing 500 errors and now a white screen. That was fast.

Also, no extra controllers in sight, other than the off-brand stuff. Oh well, at least I can use a Wii classic or something.

I was getting "In Stock" but when I added to cart, it said my cart was empty. Like 100 times. Oh well.
