All right, I've beaten bosses 1-3 with each hero and unlocked everything except bridge and alchemist. Definitely learned some things that would have GREATLY speed up the progression but at this point I'm over the grind hump I think, or at least I can be relatively assured of a successful boss run.
The river is ESSENTIAL for warrior and probably necro. I'll spoiler the effects for anyone wanting to surprise themselves.
Another freebie...build the warehouse ASAP once you get a decent stockpile of tools.
Gonna try another run at boss #4 in a few days, that run is an ASS KICKER.

Warning: Spoiler!
The tiles double the effect of any landscape next to them, so yeah, put a meadow next to a river and it is +6(!!!) hp/day. But once you place a river on an edge, you gotta snake it across the land (going under the road if you have a bridge) because if it hits the edge again, those river tiles are not just inventory dead weight. Nifty effect if it is placed next to a desert, it converts from 'double effect' to '-0.5% attack for you, -1% attack speed for enemies" So a desert heavy hero like the rogue is I guess(?) gonna benefit from slower weaker enemies but I don't think the math works out as well as doubling the effect of grass or forest (especially if as a warrior you are trying to reduce the number of forest villages to deal with)

It adds +10 to what you can equip which is a huge boost for dealing with undead and healing once you have a bunch of that stuff.

You’re not sure if you’re over the grind hump after nearly unlocking everything?
I definitely don’t regret walking away now.

Well, there are building upgrades, more huts and watchtowers to build, still plenty of encyclopedia entries left, so the game has some distance left in it. But I feel like I can let the game play itself a bit now, almost wish it had a 3x or 4x mode :PM
Still, it can turn south in an instant if the rng dislikes you.
But yeah, I'm like 15 hours in so to say I'm over the grind is a but silly

Maybe I'm just a slow player because I have 11 hours logged and I've only beaten the Lich with the warrior (3 times).

Huh, I'm actually 22 hours in, my how time flies
Anyway, if you are still struggling with the lich make sure you are equipping the furniture and tools you get (assuming you have unlocked the depot).
I play at 2x speed now. I've stopped agonizing over every % increase and will often run a gear set for an entire loop unless I get a really OP drop. The rogue is helpful to break gear AP since they usually just get gear at the campfire. His options seem more limited and playing him helped me work on attack speed, evasion, and counter. The necro is quite different and really needs a different set of cards while I feel the warrior and rogue can play with the same deck for the most part.

I’ve always played at 2x speed. I don’t have a problem with the Lich, I was just beating him multiple times to unlock those extra perks. I generally like to fully clear out a “level” in games before moving on.
I like the game generally, I just found out that I don’t like grinding for resources, which is a big part of this game, so I’m willing to put it down because of it.
