Magic: The Gathering comes to XBLArcade

So it seems to be a confirmed rumour (I'm sure many of you already knew this) that Magic: the Gathering is coming to Xbox360's Live Arcade. The achievements already look weird cuz I have no idea what two-headed giant mode is since I haven't played Magic for more than 10 years.

I tell ya, I actually so excited when i saw the announcement that I almost tapped myself (*entire world vomits*). I HATED this game near the end cuz I was almost literally getting into fist fights with my "friends" cuz they began to really hate my now infamous Walls'n'Balls deck (a crap-load of walls with only direct damage spells). I happily gave all my cards away back then.

But starting from scratch could totally be fun again, especially when motivated by the heroin-like 360 achievements. I dunno, but I'm pretty psyched to try it out.

In fact, I'm really anxious to see what they do with XboxLiveArcade after this. i have a FEELING that if Magic is done right (they do booster draft DLC game add-on, etc) then many other gaming vehicles will move to XBLArcade. Imagine how much fun many Ameritrash games would be on 360 without all the fuss of set up and clean up?

I would love to see some of my favourite Euros eventually make their way to XBLArcade too.

anyway, all to say that I'm actually anxious to try Magic on this. Should be fun.

I used to have the magic game on my PC. It was pretty fun. Then I got the one where you could play online with any card from the game. That was pretty fun too. Not sure if the itch to play Magic is still there.

if the game is still really basic, then i think it'll be as fun as ever (how the heck do they get rid of the CCG element? Do we simply have access to all the cards?)

But if they've jazzed it up with a ton of new phases or rules, it'll be terrible

I still play that old PC version. Needed a hack to play it on XP but it works great.

This will really take off. I just hope they don't stupidly use "real" booster prices for fake cards. I can never do that, just can't make myself do it. $4 for a virtual pack is crazy.

I don't see them going the way of Worlds Apart, Sony Online Entertainement and that stuff.

I think what they MAY do is charge microsoft points to have access to new card collections, maybe.

i really don't know how they'll work it to be honest. I just hope it's simple.

Random boosters at $4 each, but you can trade. Anyone who expects differently is fooling themselves.

The one I was thinking of would let you use any card. I forget what it was called though. The Online feature was an added bonus to a card tracker.

It isn't actually going to be an xbox version of the card game. It is just going to be some goofy little game based on the magic brand/universe.

I wouldn't expect much from this.

I think it might just be this.

I think it's more Planeswalkers than Battlegrounds. But I've seen some conflicting info, so who knows?

Anyone seen a release date?

I'd probably buy a damn Xbox if I could mess around with Magic WITHOUT having to ever play any of those trash-talking, fucktard 13-year-old dorks. I swear, I lasted less than three weeks at MTG Online.

Magic, without having to smell or speak to magic players? Sweet!

This could be totally awesome or totally suck. I'm hoping it's awesome but expecting it to suck.
