So I am horribly enamored with Sims 3. I played the crap out of Sims 2 and 1. While it is still a thing that alot of people just don't get.

(you are sitting, unmoving lump at computer, making your sim work out at the gym, and garden, make friends and lovers and get a better job. Try real life?)

However, it's gotten REALLY good with AI. And even as a story telling medium. You can make videos, photos, set up all sorts of situations.

Check out this blog/story about a young homeless kid.... err, Sim.

I had to uninstall The Sims a few years back. It was too addictive.

My wife is not going to buy it, seeing that the new one is not backwardly compatible with the Sims 2, they're also not letting people make stuff for it for free. Besides, her computer has labor pains just playing the S2. She still plays The Sims from time to time.

I agree, the game is addictive. I liked it a lot. It's especially rewarding when you don't cheat. My wife cheats only because she likes designing houses.

I am going to have to give the sims a go this time around. The first time I encountered the original game was going to a friend's flat. It was obvious he hadn't cleaned in a couple of weeks and had been leaving dirty dishes all over. On the screen was a guy watching TV in a dirty apartment and something on the cooker was on fire in the background. My friend seemed immune to the irony of the situation.

A colleaugue had shown me Alice and Kev. I think he knows the guy who runs the blog through the game modding community.

don't be too certain, they were probably all to well aware.

living on your own in a flat the inspiration to actually bother cleaning can be sorely lacking.

I had to stop playing the Sims when I realized I was measuring my fatigue and how bad I had to go the bathroom on a virtual green/red slider.

That's like me, only with The Ship instead of The Sims.

That blog is awesome. It's like a soap opera - I was actually really disappointed when I reached the last page and found it was a work in progress. I can't wait for the next entry!
