CCG meets RTS on PC

Kotaku posted some impressions and then in another post some video of a new game by EA called Battleforge. http://kotaku.com/5008853/battleforge-impressions

Buying and building your own army makes this RTS seem a lot more like a miniatures game than even RTSes like Dawn of War that actually are based on miniatures games. I also really like the looks of the large units. Big monster units always float my boat. ... man I'm starting to sound like Tobias from Arrested Development.

Anyway, apparently it features co-op as well as competitive play where you can earn cards to add to your deck. Too bad I'll probably have to upgrade my 4-year-old PC in order to play it.

I've been looking forward to this one, although I hate the "buying boosters" micro-payment bullshit. Unfortunately, it's an EA product, which means, it won't actually work worth a shit out of the box. I've learned the hard way to wait for an EA title to get that first $10 price cut at Best Buy before buying. By the time that has happened, at least 1 if not 3 or 4 *massive* patches will have been released and the game will be both stable and playable.

You are learning, Grasshopper. That's one of the reasons why I never buy a game when it first comes out. The price ALWAYS goes down and it will also give the devs time to administer patches. The newest incarnation of Dawn of War can just sit on the shel until it goes to $20. Then, I'll buy it. I got far too many games to play right now.

Currently, I'm playing Paraworld. Think Jurassic Park meets Vikings, Ninjas, and Arabs with a dash of three scientists as an RTS game.
