Alright, sounds like we have a few people that have at least read the rules and are ready to learn on Acts. Create an account at Acts if you haven't yet and PM me the name and email address you use to do so. I'll wait until Thursday and then start a game with those that have messaged me.

Today is the day. I have two spots open if anyone is interested. I'll be starting it this afternoon, so you have a little time to create an Acts account and PM me.

Sorry for the zombie thread, but I wanted to say that Dair is really cool and patient with regards to teaching this bad boy on ACTS. I am already beginning to see the appeal of this classic.

This weekend, I also soloed about an hour or so of a two-player game, just to get a little more familiar with the game. I screwed up a couple of rules (particularly with regards to battles), but it was one of the rare solo games where I didn't actually want to stop playing. I just had to because my son woke up from his nap.

I was worried that the movement would be an enormous headache to deal with, but in fact I really love how it gives you options every turn, and how it constricts movement. The entire act of mustering and splitting really makes this a good crunchy game. I can probably find some good face-to-face opponents, and I really look forward to it.

I'm struggling with the ACTS interface a little. Not realizing what I'm doing til after I do it.

As it stands, I'm about to get crushed in a battle and I think I've set the battle to the right phase. I placed, then black placed (and moved?), now I retaliate.

Anyone know if only the defender can advance the phase?

Also, anyone have a good online source to use as a map. While at work, I've tried to use the BGG images, but it's hard for me to read what terrain musters what.

In ACTS either player can advance the phases.

For the map try this . I think the map needs to be revolved 180 degrees to match the one on ACTS.

and for mustering chart try this :

I'm messing up too. I didn't see the teleport button on my first move and blew past it. Hopefully my flailing around won't ruin anyone elses fun.

Anyone have any idea where one can get a 'reliable' copy (not filled with mold) of the VG version of Titan. I'm becoming Titan obsessed and want the new version to go along with my AH copy...

... probably going to buy Colossal Arena as well...

First, I want to thank Dair again for leading up the current F:ATtie learning game. I can't believe I've been passing this game up for the past 30 years...

At any rate, I just want a little clarification on the order of engagements. Are these the steps to follow:

pre-battle
1) defender may opt to flee (1/2 points to the attacker)
2) negotiation (still, not super clear on this)

battle ensues
3) 4th round, defender may reinforce if possible
4) attacker can summon existing angel in the mvmt phase after slaying a creature
5) anytime during battle, either side may concede (full points to the victor)
6) 8th round attacker is eliminated, no points to the defender

post-battle
7) if victorious, defender may reinforce if didn't in round 4
8) victorious legion that goes over a multiple of 100 gets an angel in that legion
9) if attacker is victorious and moved, may muster

Are these the proper steps? Did I leave anything out or misunderstand a rule?

Thanks!

I'm also really enjoying the game, even as I'm close to elimination. There's a lot of really nuanced stuff that I'm just amazed at.

Titan pros, tell me: how often are battles negotiated? It seems like something that doesn't happen often in practice.
