Expansion for
Fantasy Flight Games

Across the Galaxy brings the characters of Solo: A Star Wars Story to Star Wars Destiny. Before he was a hero of the Rebellion, Han Solo was a cocky young pilot just looking for a little adventure. With a crew of like-minded individuals that includes Lando Calrissian and Tobias Beckett, the dashing young rogue finds his way to Star Wars Destiny. Across the Galaxy also introduces "Mods" which can be attached to vehicles to give them new or improved abilities.

Across the Galaxy brings the block started by Legacies to its conclusion and expands on its themes. You can look forwards to plots with negative point values, cards that grow stronger when you spot specific characters, and new ways to upgrade some of the most famous vehicles in the galaxy including the TIE Fighter.

Star Wars: Destiny - Across the Galaxy will include a total of 160 new cards for the game. It will be sold in booster packs, each with 5 cards and 1 die.

I'm hardly an expert, but the spoiled cards look pretty good to me. I like the TIE swarm mechanic, at least conceptually.

Didn't the new "Way of the Force" wave just get released a few days ago? And FFG is already hyping the NEXT wave? Slow your roll there, guys.

The idea of the young Han Solo character card being able to work with a Hero or Villain deck is neat thematically. And I definitely like the new mechanic of adding upgrade cards/dice onto vehicles, instead of only onto characters. That has a lot of potential.

I read that FFG has stuff planned out for TEN waves, which sure seems like a lot to me. I just bought Barnes' Star Wars: Destiny collection (thanks, Michael!), so I'm pretty well set on cards. I can't see needing to pick up any more content for this game.

I *think* Way of the Force was substantially delayed. FFG's plan is, again I believe, for a yearly cycle with three booster sets (and other stuff, like starters and, presumably, draft kits, as with Legacies).

I'd guess it's a kind of damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't sort of thing, regarding release announcements. The game had trouble getting product out consistently, so a very early announcement provides some assurance. If there's a wiff of the game being dead, that presumably has some significant effects on purchasing. Plus, you've got to satisfy the hardcores who digest new sets quickly. And there are organized play schedules to build out. And rotation to consider for standard play, as once Legacies is done, probably four months or so after the scheduled November release of the next set, rotation will move all of the Awakenings cycle stuff out of standard play.

But, yeah, the official release of WotF was just July 5 (in the US, anyway). And it's all just one big racket.

For what it's worth, someone at the store I was playing in last night said they've sold tons more WotF than other booster sets, if I overheard right.
