Prepare for an exciting tabletop experience defending the light or dark side of the Force! Crafted from Usaopoly (The Op)’s ongoing partnership with Games Workshop, Talisman: Star Wars  —  the first roll-and-move game transporting fans to their favorite galaxy far, far away…. is coming this fall!

Explore the Star Wars galaxy through memorable characters, places, and events from every era within the setting of a critically-acclaimed tabletop game franchise.

Available in European, Middle Eastern, and African regions, Talisman: Star Wars allows players to compete in a circuitous race to reach Emperor Palpatine, collecting items of power along the way to confront the all-powerful Sith Lord or stand beside him as an evil apprentice!

Adventurers can choose from 12 playable characters to charge their way into the inner rings of the galactic gameboard. Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rey, Kylo Ren, Count Dooku, and Obi-Wan Kenobi are among the custom sculpted game pieces true to every beloved Talisman game.

This collaboration developed by The Op and Games Workshop will join the ranks of the Disney Kingdom Hearts edition of Talisman launched in 2019. It is also their second Star Wars themed game, following the cooperative card and dice game Star Wars: Dark Side Rising, which recently garnered excitement and praise from fans at DISTOY and UK Games Expo 2019.

OMFG!

No, I mean it this time. This is a great marriage.

Glad to see a Star Wars game not going through the same meat grinder too.

I have that weird feeling of getting everything I’ve ever wanted and realizing that I didn’t really want it as much as I thought I did.

Talisman Kingdom Hearts was actually pretty good, if you like Talisman. Talisman: Batman was a swing and a miss. If they learned from those two, Talisman: Star Wars could be quite good, if you like Talisman.

All I know is that this would get played a bunch in our house, since my son and I really like both Star Wars and Talisman?

"Available in European, Middle Eastern, and African regions" Guess I have to ask a favor from some of my friends in Germany.

Apparently the meat grinder is still in place.

This will not be available in the US.

Ross Thompson, Marketing & Community Manager for The OP says, “Unfortunately, this will not be available in the US. Our license is for the EU and EMEA regions. ”

Lawks. If only there were such a thing as international postage and a forum populated with friendly European based members.

I can't believe this is getting oxygen here, even Mr Barnes doesn't know what to say  . Although I can imagine the mud that would be flying around if FFG had announced this …

Well yeah, because FFG would find a way to blow it. That's in their business plan now.

How does this have only international distribution? Is this using some pre-Disney archaic license or is a big splash US version just waiting in the wings? My folks to to Europe on the reg (well, maybe not this year), now I finally have something for them to look out for :P

What are the odds this thing multilingual card decks. Is it common for european board games to be french/german/italian/english or something all in the same box or does each country get their own version?

Regarding what language it will be in, Ross says, “Right now just English.”

Regarding why no US release, another company has the Star Wars board game license for the US. I think it is Hasbro/Milton Bradley (Star Wars Risk, Star Wars Monopoly, Star Wars Life)

And that's the exact type of comment, that comes from so many here, that makes me quite wary of recommendations and reviews here these days

I thought a lot of FFG's Star Wars games were widely considered successes. RPG's, Destiny, X-Wing, Armada, Imperial Assault, Rebellion, Outer Rim, etc. Meanwhile, USAopoly just slaps different IP's onto Monopoly, Risk, and now Talisman.

Fantasy Flight Games > USAopoly

Wait -- those aren't the same game? That explains a lot.

Because it's not like we have a regular FFG lovefest with the Beyond the Veil and Fire When Ready series.
