The Hotness from Essen 2010
There Will Be Games

Every year I scour the Essen reports for new and interesting games.

Several games we have already been anticipating and talking about for weeks, months, and in some cases years.

Earth Reborn

Survive: Escape from Atlantis

Mansions of Madness

Sid Meier's Civilization

Merchants & Marauders

Cadwallon City of Thieves

Here are a few others that have caught my eye, that we haven't heard much about,  that might be of interest to F:ATies. Information on these is rather meager, so if you have had a chance to play them or have additional information, please share.

Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space

Alien Frontiers

  • Review By Matt Drake
  • Chapel says: Has elements of Kingsburg and Roll Through the Ages, and a whole bunch of other shit, that all works together really well...Overall a cool gaming experience. (read more below)
  • MooFrank says: It is at least a rather good Euro, and has both a simplicity and clarity of rules, enough screwage, and enough randomness to make it of interest to the Euro-tolerant among us. (read more below)

Phantom League

Grimoire (and pretty much anything published by Japon Brand always looks interesting to me)

Mars is Ours

King of Tokyo

  • Shapeshifter says: It was the most fun game of all the games we played at the fair, and we played some fantastic games. (read more below)

The Resistance

Van Helsing

Interstellar Mayhem

  • Shapeshidter says: They should have called the game Intergalactic Bumper cars. (read more below)

51st State

  • A post-apocalyptic cardgame from the people behind Neuroshima Hex.

If there are any others that caught your eye, please add them in a comment.
