WIN A FREE COPY OF LINCOLN’S WAR

Civil War aficianados!
Win a free copy of MMP’s new card-driven design LINCOLN’S WAR

In the illustration provided below, you see the opening set-up for the tournament scenario of Lincoln’s War and two open card hands, one Union, one Confederate. Notice, the Union player has just used his card effect to spy on his opponent. Consider yourself to be the US Player / Abe Lincoln. Study both hands. Now come up with what you consider the most advantageous strategy for this campaign turn. Explain the following.

o You have 22 Political Control Points, what will you purchase?
o You may rail up to five general stars this turn. Who? And to where?
o You have four fleets (unless you purchase 1-3 more), What will you do with them this turn?
o What are your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses?
o What will your objectives be this campaign turn?
There will be two more turns (or card hands) in this scenario
o What is your opponent most likely to do this turn?
o If you were to carry a card over into the next turn, what would it be?

The entrant with the most clever overall strategy will win one of the first copies of Lincoln’s War when published AND be heralded on BoardgameGeek, ConSimWorld, and FortressAmeritrash for his or her strategic brilliance!

Suggestions: Read the blog postings and study the new rules posted on BoardgameGeek.

Reminders:
o If attacked, you may retreat before battle at the cost of 1 PC per army commander’s star.
o You receive a replacement card for each Resource spent in a battle
o You are capable of a two star amphibious move this turn.
o Don’t forget Enthusiastic Support Points (ESPs)

Three judges, Adam Starkweather, John Poniske, and Michel Boucher, will review and compare all entries, announcing the best submission on October 31, Halloween Day, 2011. Send entries to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
