I'm surprised that someone went the videogame route since I would have bet those communities would be the most likely to uncover an ill-conceived fake project. But I'm not at all surprised that faux projects are popping up. Again, that's why I stick to known artists, designers and companies in almost every case.

Yeah, but the video game ones are the big money makers, so if I was going to do a cash grab and skip the country, that is the area I'd hit as well.

Ogre's pledge jumped by $50K today and the numbers are rolling along more quickly. I have "reload every" set to two minutes and the number is changing each time.

I spitballed the number of copies SJG needs to deliver and it appears that it just "sold out" its 3000 copies with this sudden jump.

That may be the reason for the jump, or it may be that SJG added goal levels for delivery to other countries.

Is it too early to rate this game a 10 on BGG?

S.

Update #20's paragraph about the sponsored countersheets accounts for $22,500 ($4,500 times 5).

Just found out that the English shop retail price will be £80, equivalent to just under $130. Definitely a *lot* more attractive than the $192/£120 Kickstarter plus postage, especially when customs would add about £30. Basically the shop price is half the Kickstarter, which speaks volumes about the outrageous cost of shipping these days.

If I want to order extras from SJG w23 store I imagine I can pledge $1 to allow that. Or $25 if I want the PDFs.

So maybe I'm in.

They're up over the $620k mark now. I wonder where it will close out. Zombicide (the game from the CoolMiniOrNot guys) got a huge jump in the closing days, finishing at around $782k, which is kind of a mindblowing number. I really want this one to unlock the $700k goal because I would *love* to see a pimped out Car Wars set down the road.

I think it's pretty cool that this Kickstarter project actually created a job at SJG. They're hiring a product manager for the Ogre line because the turnout for this project has forced Steve to think of this as an ongoing product line instead of just a one-off pimped out collectors release. The idea of a couple of expansions down the road is most welcome thought...

Anyway, 3 days left on this one...

Two hours left, sundry nay-sayayers, curmudgeons, and business ethics professors. Still time to jump on that Ogre train before it leaves the station.

Woo-woo!
