Titan Board Game
U ubarose Updated June 20, 2019 909   0

Game Information

Game Name
This week we are flashing way back with Titan, which was originally published in 1980. It was out of print for 10 years, from 1998 until 2008 when Valley Games published a new edition.  It has been called a "Masterpeice of Ameritrash design." It has also been called a "fragile blood bath." What do you think? Love it or hate it? Do you still play it?

On the short list of games that don’t require another review, Space Hulk is near the top.  But on occasion, you stumble into absurdity, and that happened during the May Getaway when my buddy Sam opened his box to find he had left all his Genestealers at home on his workbench for painting.

Sometimes it’s not what you know, but who you know.  This morning, when Tomb hit the table in front of me for perhaps the fifth time, I had an ace in the hole that virtually none of the rest of you will have – Sippi Steve.
Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition
U ubarose Updated June 06, 2019 1236   0

Game Information

The release of Mansions of Madness in 2011 was a highly anticipated event, which quickly turned from happy excitement to bitter grumblings. The game was plagued by misprints, as well as criticized for its complexity, long set up time, limited number of scenarios, and, of course, those weird little puzzles. Despite this, Mansions of Madness had its fans and received two big box expansions, and 6 print on demand scenarios.  In 2016 the first edition of Mansions of Madness was retired and the second edition of Mansions of Madness was released. This edition did away with...
Letters from Sag -- Aquädukt at the May Getaway

May Getaway days don’t exactly leap out of the gate at 6am. Part of our play space is one of the bedrooms this year (we’re rarely in the same house more than once or twice and this is a new venue this year), so more than a few players are up past midnight. I turned off the light around 1am and was back in the gaming room with my packet of Pop-Tarts by 8. The early people often kick off the day with lighter fare and this morning was no exception. Aquädukt is a game...
Flashback Friday - Nightfall - Love It or Hate It? Do You Still Play It?

The years following the release of Dominion brought on a slew of Deck Builders. Some have survived, while others have fallen by the wayside and gone out-of-print. One of the later is Nightfall. Considering the amout of ink Nightfall recieved on this site, I would have never predicted that Nightfall would be the AEG Deckbuilder to fade away, while Thunderstone (which is close in age to Nightfall), has evolved and still continues to be supported.  Nightfall's Chaining* mechinism felt so innovative and exciting at the time. Although it was a bit fiddly and resolving it was...
