Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
Dark Souls the Board Game
TL:DW, they really enjoyed the game.
I late pledged for DS but got cold feet and got a refund after they refused to show gameplay video when they said they would. They also had a hard time implementing the trap mechanic which further eroded my trust in their ability to deliver a stand out game.
The good news is the KS had no exclusives and you can pick up everything at retail. The bad news is like Conan the game is very overpriced imo.
Oh well, I used the money saved from DS and got Kingdom Death instead.

My friend is also getting a copy; I'm interested to try it out.

Eh, that happens with some frequency. Probably more often than we know. I can think of a few board game titles from the past few years where the reviews were all held until a certain time. Mechs vs. Minions is one that comes to mind.

I'd love to play this game, but I don't have a copy coming and I'm not paying retail prices. Little bummed it's so expensive.

TL;DW, Tom didn't like it, it was too difficult for him and very grindy. He felt the mechanics were a bit dated compared to newer games like Gloomhaven.
Eurogamer enjoyed the game, games are long (3+ hrs), obtaining new equipment takes luck and grinding. The game is true to Dark Souls so DS fans will get extra enjoyment out of it.

It seems that the design is focused on leveling-up grind, and not on the player actually getting better through learning and observing (although that element is there too in boss fights).
My most soul-like experience in boardgaming is LOTR LCG. You try a scenario with what you think is your best deck, fail miserably, tweak the deck, fail again, learn more about the encounters, die again, etc, until you beat it and it produces a similar sense of satisfaction that it was you who actually beat it by your own wits.
