I'm sending out my copy of Touch of Evil on a trip across the country and, hopefully, back again. If you want this game to visit you PM me with your name and address.

Editing to add: I may send out 300: the Board Game. (See post below). When you PM me. let me know if you are interested in only ToE, only 300, or either is okay.

How it works.

I take the list of participants and put it in some reasonable order. I ship out the game to the first name on the list. They get to keep it for a while and try it out. I PM the next person on the list to them. They ship it to that person, and so on down the list.

Here's the catch:

1. There needs to be sufficient interest in doing this.
2. You will have to pay shipping to the next person on the list. I will do my best to put the list in a reason able order with regard to shipping distances.
3. You must make a blog entry about your experience with the game. It could be anything from a review to a picture of the game at a local landmark.
4. It is customary to put a small souvenir of the visit in the box. When the box finally gets back, I post a final blog entry with photos of the crap that got sent back with it.

So who's in?

Cool Idea, Uba. If I didn't already have it, I would definitely be in. Good luck.

Great Idea! I will also opt out due to both owning the game, and not wishing to put Aussie shipping costs on the fun...but I still think it is a very cool idea!

I don't see how that disqualifies you from participating: if people who already own the game end up as last on the list then they can post their blog entries more about their experiences with this copy of the game. What state the components are in, what nic-nacs end up in the box and that sort of thing.

I'd do it, if we can find some way round the international shipping problem. One solution is for it to be sent via ship rather than airmail: it's surprisingly cheap but it takes weeks.

I would also like to point out that it can take several months for a traveling item to make the rounds, so if you are signing up because you think that this would be a good way to try the game within the next few weeks, it probably won't happen.

Also, if we don't have enough interest in ToE, I may offer 300: The Board Game which I think almost no one has, and no one intends on getting. Jeb and Billy, let me know if you are still in if we have to change which game gets sent.

This sounds like a great idea, but I think TOE is the wrong game as people have it. 300 may be a better pick.
Or I have a copy of Talisman 3rd edition that could make the round the world trek?

Talisman 3rd ed would be cool-- barring the risk of some prick nicking it of course.

On the plus side, you'd know who the douchebag was...

300 would be really cool. That sounds like a better idea than ToE, actually.

Unfortunately, no option for this from the US--they did away with Surface Mail last May. If the box is under 4 lbs when packed, you can go 1st class, which is about 30% cheaper than USPS priority and will take 2-3 weeks to the UK; 3-4 to australia, but it's anything but "cheap" compared to what the Royal Post and Aussia postal services offer for transoceanic shipping. It's kind of a pain in the ass .

I'd suggest either starting or ending the chain with the non-US F:ATties, though someone would have to be willing to bear the cost of getting the box out of the US.
