One movie recommendation

Continuing with the recent move discussions, I had an idea. If you could recommend people see only one movie, what would it be? It could be your favorite movie of all time, or maybe some obscure gem that you want to make sure everyone enjoys. But the rule (completely unenforceable) is that you can only recommend one movie, no more.

For me, it would be: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. One of my favorite movies, I love how the movie continually moves in and out of conventional reality till you're not quite sure what is really going on.

The Big Lebowski.

A lot of people are sick of it, what with it being lauded as the first cult movie of the internet era and all that. And it's certainly not a perfect movie. And there's a lot of annoying douches who think that quoting a funny movie is the same thing as being funny. AND I'm not a movie guy; I would almost always rather read a book or go for a walk or something. But it's one of the few movies I can stand to watch more than once.

Life of Brian

Even my wife, whose English is not great, really enjoys this one. Far better than Holy Grail et al. Only problem was, I had to tell her to stop quoting LoB while we were walking round the Christian Quarter in Old Jerusalem...we were getting funny looks from everyone.....

I watched an Internet cut of HEAT that completely eliminated the Natalie Portman charcacter. makes a good movie a great movie.

My number one movie of all time, but I wouldn't recommend it here, just because I would assume everyone has seen it. Still pondering what to put up.

After Life

A quirky, slow paced lovely little film about what happens when you die. Turns out you have a week to pick your favorite memory and some random people help you reenact it.

If I can get both parts, I'll take Kill Bill 1 & 2. It has a little bit of everything and is so well done that I could watch it daily.

I would have to go with Raising Arizona, for my money the funniest movie ever.
