Without thinking about it too much:

Brian May
Mark Knopfler
Steve Morse
Tommy Emmanuel
I can't think of a fifth, so Ry Cooder, because he wrote "Eugene's Trick Bag."

Lenny Breau: Completely changed the way I think about string instruments and what harmonics can do, the guy is a legend who's life was cut short by his murdering wife. I miss him every time I listen to him. The way he comps while soloing is mind blowing and no one handles an unaccompanied guitar like him.

Leo Kottke: I thought I was on to something with acoustic guitar idea's when I was about 23, then I heard Leo Kottke and realized that I was behind the times by about 20 years. SHIT!

Shawn Lane: His work with Jonas Hellborg, especially on Temporal Analogues of Paradise and Icon is my favorite metal playing (in a somewhat jazzy context) I've ever heard. His solo stuff is shit though.

Danny Gatton: No one makes me laugh like Danny Gatton. Virtuosic and humerus. Too bad he felt the need to take his own life.

Neil Young: Because you can't choose all virtuoso's. It's just not fair. I love his solo's with all their raunch and bombasity. Really ballsy.

No one needs a video of him, he's famous man!

Maybe I'll go back and youtube this up, but my five that aren't mentioned yet:

John Cipollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service and about a thousand Bay Area bands)
Daniel Ash (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets)
Keith Richards (duh)
David Lindley (El-Rayo X, but most famous as Jackson Browne's sideman)
Nick McCabe (The Verve)

Total agreement on Jack White, Mark Knopfler, Johnny Marr, and some others mentioned.

Lowell George just barely misses the cut, mostly because my first draft had four slide players in it. There must be something wrong with me.

Oh, I totally forgot Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead. He's one of the best pure musicians I know of in rock music.
