Fantastic film. Even more so for adults but kids will love it too (my 4-yr old really liked it even though the humour got away from her most of the time).
I have a personal bias here being a huge fan of Wallace and Gromit but this is top drawer entertainment. Much better than Chicken Run as well (not having an anti-Semitic protagonist helps).
There are just so many little beautiful moments and you know it'll take repeated viewings to catch everything and savour all the details put into each frame that is shot. Claymation is a labour of love and this guy just loves his characters and his world so much, you can feel it all the time.
Just a perfect movie to take your kids out on a rainy day. Between this and Inside Out, we're getting quite spoiled as parents bringing our kids to truly fantastic films.
Most highly recommended. The movie just picks up more and more as it goes on. Well worth it.

I'll definitely be watching this, thanks BB. I also really love the Pirates movie this company put out... very underrated in my mind with lots of wonderfully absurd moments. Chicken Run did have it's problems but it was mostly enjoyable (I don't remember how the hero was anti-Semitic). Nothing ever touches the brilliance of The Wrong Trousers though.. that's the high water mark for claymation in my mind.

I almost took the kids to see this last weekend, but we opted for Pinballz Kingdom.
Anyway, it was gonna be between this and Inside Out, but I can't do another cgi kids/family film...no matter how highly rated...I just can't.
We'll check this out soon. Thanks for the review!

My kid wanted to go see it in the cinema after watching the commercial on TV, she said "That looks really funny!" So thanks for the heads up Barney.

White, there's zero CGI in Shaun the Sheep so no worries there. That's why I chose the thumbnail image I did. I'm in disbelief that is how he did the whole film. Gotta support these artists.
JJ, Mel Gibson was the protagonist in Chicken Run. And yeah The Wrong Trousers is the absolute nuts. You will love Shaun the Sheep, guaranteed.
I want to rewatch it just to see the farmer spit out his coffee again....

Saw it with our kids this weekend--including the almost 4yo. Super movie for everyone. Hilarious in parts and all without sound. We were all busting up at different times, as the jokes hit in all these layers. Go see it!
