It's not going to be ASL with Dark Souls livery on it. It's going to be a simple, mass-market friendly dungeon crawler with a popular IP attached to it.

That's exactly what Ghostbusters was/is -- similar process, everything had to be approved by Sony. However, it is a very nice mass-market friendly game.

They have a new update that FINALLY provides real information. It sounds good, I think. At this point though, I really don't like how they ran the campaign and I'll likely be saving my money for Massive Darkness which should launch shortly.

I have no idea whether I should waste money on backing this or not. The base set is a lot of shit if the game is even halfway decent and I can sort of see where they're going with it.

Are you guys buying any add-ons? My first reaction is no since they are hilariously expensive and don't provide much. Maybe tile add-ons? Dunno. If they were selling the last giant as a kickstarter add-on I might not be able to resist it. It's nice they aren't kickstarter exclusive.

Anything worth noting about that one? Is the Zombicide system a really good start for a dungeon crawl or something?

The only add-on, and I agree the prices are ridiculous, that I'd consider would be the dark root basin one, and even that one turns my stomach since they sell the tiles separately.

From what I understand the tiles are cosmetic only, maybe node distribution varies, but only so much. In one of the AMAs they mentioned that terrain effects are something they'll likely look at down the line, but not right now.

I'm still hesitating whether or not to back. No add-ons for sure, there'll be plenty of stuff to try out the game before paying even more. Those mega-bosses are worth CA$50! The pledge $150, so that's a lot already.

It's interesting to note that as of the last AMA, they've increased the future retail price of those mega-bosses from £30 (as indicated by the retailer exclusives and stated earlier) to £35. But as we've said, often stuff is often sold in NA for a lot less than a straight conversion of pounds to dollars would be.

Tile layouts do matter. The latest update talks about how different nodes are specified as terrain placement nodes, treasure nodes, or spawn points. So you'll draw an event card, and if it says place 2 barrels, you'll find the terrain nodes and place barrels on them.

UK prices should include VAT (20%) as it's a legal requirement there to declare the total cost of goods including taxes. That 20% won't apply to, eg, US/Canada etc, and typically prices I've seen for games align more to a 1:1 conversion to USD. When it hits OLGS at least.

I'm reducing my pledge to just the base level. I don't give a shit about contributing toward more purchasable stretch goals. I'll likely add the Darkroot Basin and its tile pack (I mean come on) later. Like, the day before the PM closes.

The mechanics update really wasn't much to me...I kind of drew those conclusions just from thinking about how this might go anyway.

The tiles will have some variance in the node colors/"terrain"...but I think that terrain and all that isn't going to be much of an element. I mean, think about it. Terrain is a weird thing in DS. You are not always at an advantage on the high ground. Sometimes you are better off down under something you are hitting. How do you figure that in? I like that they have the useless barrels...and you can roll through them, essentially. They appear to add some terrain effects though, I would imagine that some things can smash through them.

No bundle is stupid. They'd likely increase the take by many thousands of dollars if they did one.

Apparently the retailer pledges include SG for the first 6 games - I found myself one, so will save a bit there. Not backing directly.

So they are down to the last 2 days, have broken every board game Kickstarter record there is to break, and at the 3,000,000 pound mark they announce the privilege to buy another boss add-on. These guys are too much. I'm glad I did not pledge.

Yep. I ultimately decided to buy a PC game instead. It's just too many unknowns. The base game is still an ok deal if the gameplay is any good.

Yep. The "something really special" at 3 million pounds was another 28 pound add on. That sort of sealed for me, I bought WHQ instead and dropped my pledge to 1 pound. Maybe I'll do it when the pledge manager goes up, presumably after there's a better sense that this is a viable game and not a rudimentary game supporting a miniatures line.

I think they just don't really know what they're doing quite yet. They've got some interesting ideas and the skeleton of a cool game, but I'll need to see more before the PM.

Between this and the "D&DAS Killer" (glad some of you are picking it up & I await reviews; pass for me) I've managed to stave off $250 in expenses. Wish S&S were getting here sooner...

OK so they hit 3.5 million pounds so they "put their heads together" to come up with a way to celebrate it...a FREE CAMPAIGN MODE!

With zero details. And a "let us know what you think we should do with it" request to the community.

I'm thinking about pulling my dollar.
